Hoo boy I hope Argent doesn't need to come in here, but lets get started.
Basically, this is a thread where you post what faction you generally take the point of view of in the forums. I really don't want any bashing of others. Just state your reason why you take the point of view of the faction (Heck it could just be Orcs are cool looking or something like that).
Again, don't respond to others please, its just a reference for the forums. (And Argent if it gets bad lock this one, it might not be the best thread at this time).
Ok I am Alliance, but not Varian. I take the point of view of the Dwarves most of the time, and sometimes humans not from stormwind, and sometimes draenei.
But I also sometimes look at the Horde, where I am mainly orcs/trolls.

I most often go for the point of view of the Horde, the Orcs in particular. When I look at things from an Alliance perspective, I like to look at it for the Dwarves.
And of course, for Neutrality, the Pandaren :D
My favorite Orc faction is the Frostwolf Clan, with the Burning Blade and Blackrock Clans coming in at a close second... I also liked the Warsong in Beyond the Dark Portal and Lord of the Clans, but that one comes in at a distant third compared to the others.
My favorite Dwarves are the Wildhammers.

I believe in the horde, for several reasons.
here we go:
on ALL fantasy settings, wherever there are orcs, they fight humans, this is basic rule 101, is almost like any disney movie that includes talking dogs or brendan frasier is doomed to fail.....
be it Might & Magic, Warhammer, Lineage, SpellWars, Lord of the Rings, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeons & Dragons, The Elder Scrolls, and a rather huge etcerea..
but warcraft was the first one to break the mold, to shatter the stereotype of the bruttish garrosh-wanna be orc of "ME SMASH YOU!".
warcraft introduced orcs that where actually cunning, clever, smart, great strategist, orcs that didn't just served as cannon fodder for the main bad-guy and where doomed to be slaugthered by the handsome heroes and the affeminated elves.......
warcraft introduced orcs that where actualy able to win, and later on broke all molds and standard fantasy conventions when for the first time ever, orcs didn't fought humans anymore, orcs where noble, orcs actually fought side-by-side with the humans against a common foe, and won (warcraft 3)
then wow came and screwed everything up :S by making that awesome ending mean squat......
but still, I relate to the horde mainly because their values, creed, and motto resembles me in real life........
all races of the horde (minus the tauren) share a dark past, something horrible they did, and they try to attone for that past, make amends, and live by honor.......
I too have had my share of regrets on this life, and have done my best to make amends for what I've damaged, and this relates greatly to my orc shaman............
main reason I don't asosiate much with the alliance, is because of their tendency to reflect the worst aspects of today's society,,, be it greed in the case of the dwarves, arrogance in the case of the night-elves, be it treason in the case of the humans, or simple disregard for others in the case of some of the gnomes.......
the horde represents a chance to start anew, to mend the crimes of the past, and carve a new future, and exert your own right to be, to exist, to live.....
I really cannot understand WHY after the end of the third war, humanity continued their hatred to the orcs........
I mean really they did horrible stuff, but they paid with 20 years of slavery and death, then they fled to a diferent continent so that they dind't had to fight them for lands or anything else, and just like that, the humans come to kalimdor looking for reasons to continue the war... (im talking admiral proudmoore and several others here)
it is this continued love for war and death what draws me away from the alliance....
and it is the honor and nobility of characters like saurfang thrall drektar and cairne what drives me to be horde.....
personally I think blizzard owes us big time for the wrathgate, as taht event really demonized our beloved faction...
if they are really balanced and don't play favorites they better make a similar esenario on cataclysm to smear the "holier than thou" reputation of the alliance as they smeared our "honor and respect" with the wrathgate event
(at least I'm glad that the wrathgate happened since it put a screeching halt to the frikking blight for good, no more will that be used to judge what the horde is and what the horde does)

For the Horde, I'm all with the orcs.
There's just something about the society of the green-skins (sometimes brown, I know, I know) that makes me really happy that they aren't like the orcs of other games. I guess it's because their culture is based on honor, and it pains me to see how many people make them out to be bloodthirsty savages.
I'm pretty much this. Also, when I started out with the Warcraft saga, I was fascinated by the story behind Thrall and the Horde, and how he led the them to Kalimdor where they ultimately settled.
The Alliance...well I kinda saw Arthas slaughtering his own people, and in addition, his ignoring of the orders of others, such as Uther and Muradin led me to believe that there were some problems of power in the Alliance...
Yeah...

Don't worry about the dragons, Alextrasza is certainly a person of trust. As the Lifebinder, she watches us all as if she was our mother. As seen in the
Bridenbrd
questline; the power of the Dream, the Breath of Life, even the Naaru couldn't cure the Crusader, they could only make sure he passed on to his next reward.

I like the Blood Elves, and I can see their PoV because I have quested in Eversong/Ghostlands
so many @#$%ing times.
However, I generally see the point of more moderate characters - Such as Velen, Jaina and Thrall (I would include
chilli con
Cairne, but he has been shafted in WoW). Even *gasp*
Rhonin at times.
Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go and vomit for saying the "R" Word.

Although Rankkorr has already said.. well.. pretty much what I would say on it, I'll try to put my own reasons for my faction.
Obviously, its horde. The premise of them being the 'noble savage' works so well for the horde.
When I came into wow, I came in off the back of reading lord of the rings. lotr, in all its brilliance, is the backbone of this kind of fantasy genre, and from it set the generic backbone of human vs orcs, humans always the good guys, orcs always the bad guys, and this trend is present in all other fantasy genres since.
When I read lotr, someone made me sometimes think, the orcs in this, would it ever be possible to find a 'good orc' in something. Why were they always the bad guys, could it be seen another way.
And, as you might have guessed, I found that in warcraft.
I came in off the back of lord of the rings, and so I fire began playing as an alliance warlock, not knowing anything about the lore or its characters. Then, I made an orc shaman, and played both these characters bit by bit, finding out about all the lore and stories and places in and apart from azeroth. I also made a draenei shaman when tbc came out, which for the first time I actully seemed to settle into.
But, for the next few years of reading the lore, the books, seeing the characters and its development, it began to dawn on me there were factors about the alliance that just didn't sit well, and it became obvious that I had found that thing I was searching for, the 'good' orc, in a genre where orcs could be heroes and champions, and the whiter then white good guy image of the humans was a bad oversight when they couldn't see the orcs as heroes themselves, or at least not see them as anything else but savages and monsters.
The more noble the horde appeared, the less noble the alliance became, until (after my orc shaman becoming my main) I moved my draenei shaman off the server, race changed my gnome warlock to a belf one, and got to where it is now.
The horde also has in it, possibily the most remarkable character of any fantasy genre of this kind I've ever seen, being Thrall, an orc leader with all the guile of an orcish commander, but with the intellect, instint and awareness better then any human. And by the shear fact if the leader of the orcs in warcraft could have this kind of remarkable character, then it said so much for the rest of the orcs and tauren and trolls.
My main reason, for being horde, is that after years of getting into the story of warcraft, I can honestly say the horde seem far more real in there characters and faults, in there want to survive and fighting there own inner termoil and demons, far more then the generic white knight alliance.
The faction I take my stand with is of course the orcs.
As for the alliance, given my past take on it, The draenei are probably the one race I hold a good solid respect for, being survivors themselves of so much hardship, as well as being lead by a remarkable leader.
The dwarves too I might have some respect for. There humbleness at the good things in life, matched by there prowess in battle is much like the orcs themselves. If it wasn't for the fact that they have themselves go anywhere and claim anything.

I generally find myself defending Horde mostly, but more so because their is generally more Horde bashing (They're easier to think of as "evil") than being biased (Though that's a bit of it). I commonly find myself showing pity to the Forsaken.

Heh suppose I should expand overall:
Draenei are my all time favorite race, and in my eyes have the best of the leaders... which is probably why I see the other factions/groups in more or less neutrality... except for Sylvanas, though I don't believe all the Forsaken are evil... but they are similar to the goose-steppers; their Queen says jump, most of them say how high.

Let me add as well.
I like the Horde as a whole for their savageness and honor. The Orcs are my favorite race, they are the backbone of the Horde. They are strong in both body and mind, mostly body.
The Trolls can be as equally as savage as the Orcs but they strike me as the type that are calm and calculating(Vol'jin and the Darkspear).
The Tauren are the hippies of the Horde. The calm and wise tribesmen that use their superior size and strength when need be to defend their homeland.
The Forsaken are misunderstood imo. They are viewed as selfish and evil in the eyes of others, but I view them as strong willed people that will do anything to defend themselves from their enemies.
I hate Blood Elves.
