Forgive me if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I wasn't able to find any other threads on the topic.
Is it true that 3.3 brought the ability to track what quests you have and have not completed? If so, are there any mods out yet that use it?

Yes. I know EveryQuest does, and I assume QuestHistory would as well. Can't think of any others and don't feel like researching for more atm.

Thanks, I'll check those out.

Gotcha. So are there any mods out there that can read the new database (assuming it actually does exist) and see what quests I have left to attain Loremaster?
Searching through Curse's app finds nothing and I didn't find anything on the other usual mod sites I peruse.

As a heads up, those mods will only be able to indicate quests you have completed since the mod was installed.
They cannot go back and tell you what you've done, so if you're going for Loremaster, get ready to slog through each zone one by one while tracking low-level quests and abusing this database.
Not true. EveryQuest showed all the quests I've completed since lvl 1 and I just installed this week.

As of 3.3, this is no longer true. An API function was added to query the server for a list of completed quest IDs. Several of these addons that you're thinking of are already taking advantage of this.
Besides the aforementioned EveryQuest, the latest QuestHelper can show you points on the map for givers of quests you haven't completed yet (use /qh incomplete). It is not perfect yet -- it needs some filtering for seasonal/class/profession quests that can't be obtained -- but it's still a great help. EveryQuest is just a quest list, but it can filter out the quests you can't do. Combining QH and EQ is likely the best possible option for help with Loremaster at present.

EveryQuest isn't really a help with Loremaster, as it only shows the quest you have done/not done yet, it doesn't tell you who gives out the quest, or if there are any prerequisites etc. Or if it does, it's done in a very well hidden way, as I've not been able to figure out how to make it do this.
So in the end, it seems to me you still have to hunt across every zone looking for exclamation marks on the map...I disagree.
It really sucks to be riding around Nagrand looking for the 4 quests you haven't completed yet. With EveryQuest, you could quickly find out which ones they are, hop onto Wowhead, and find out where to get them. No riding around looking for exclamation marks needed!

I have an issue with several zones while trying to achieve Loremaster, I have an addon as well as the wowhead client, but my issue is I cannot find the quest to complete or even start a chain, there are no quests visible. I have researched the data base, I have checked each zone and looked for each quest giver... nothing. I'm having the problem with Cape of Stranglethorn (none of the quest givers have quests), Western Plaguelands (only 2 to go) and Thousand Needles.
I would greatly appreciate any help in finding what I'm missing
Sometimes quests actually drop from mobs - for your particular issue I would spend some time during shutdown using
Stranglethorn quests
and filter for your faction. For me, personally, sometimes just looking over quest details I will remember whether I've completed it or not.
STV Questgivers
can also help, using the Objects, Starts Quest & Comments tabs. often you will find helpful suggestions on easily missed quests for zone completion.
Rinse & repeat for the other zones.
Good luck with it :)

Ace in the Hole
and
Andorhal, Once and For All
can be completed once you have done
The Battle Resumes!
- obtain this from
Damion Steel
.
I believe once you are able to complete The Battle Resumes (after completing Combat Training & The Farmer's Stead), phasing will allow the others to be seen :)
On a further note, some of these require level 38+ in case you weren't aware and are using a low-level toon.
As far as I can tell,
Ashes to Ashes
is in Stonetalon, not WPL.
Always check the Comments tab on a page to see if people have run across the same issues and have left handy hints.
Hope that helps!
p.s. As an afterthought I just remembered - sometimes a quest from another, usually adjoining, zone can lead to quests you haven't unlocked yet. I would try looking in The Bulwark or even UC/Tirisfal Glades for leadins.
