Tired, forgive the numerous, blunt statements lacking in finess.
Avoidance is never a certain and can be very unreliable.
- you can only dodge physical attacks
- they have to be capable of being dodged
- they have to be from in front of you
- you can't dodge while incapacitated
- and even then it's only a chance to dodge
Not to mention dodge has diminishing returns which isn't a terrible issue by itself due to how dodge increases in effectiveness but combined with chill of the thrown it makes stacking avoidance while already wading in diminishing returns a horrid idea.
Stamina never has diminishing returns and we already get a huge amount out of it, 163% in dire bear form with kings, and is effective for surviving both physical and magical damage all of the time not to mention influencing the potency of survival instincts, frenzied regeneration, improved leader of the pack, and glyph of rune tap heals.
Health works for everything so it's an easy choice, armor works on virtually everything dodge does but is much more reliable than dodge, dodge is nice but it's too iffy and even without focusing on it you'll get plenty.
I've always upheld health and armor over dodge, even after several nerfs to our stamina and armor multipliers and have yet to be disappointed.
