My toon is a Shadow Priest, lvl 80 and I do not PVP at all.
On my SP, her Haste is at 546.
I know since this last patch.. the Haste issue is supposed to be nice for a SP.. but it just seems that my buffs are not getting the full potential of damage effects like it should be doing.
So, opinions are needed here.. can my SP have to much haste ? What would be the lowest haste for my SP to have, to make sure I am able to get the most out of my damage spells.
Thanks for any help.

You need a healthy balance of haste and spell power. Would you be able to link your armory, tell us your average DPS? These things could help us see if there is actually anything wrong.

Still too early to have definite answers. But have a look
here
; there
may
be some optimal haste numbers around 600 and 800.
What would be the lowest haste for my SP to have, to make sure I am able to get the most out of my damage spells. It's looking like for haste values below 600, haste is going to be
slightly
favored over spell power; if your haste is over 800, spell power will be preferred.
Caveats:
Preliminary.
Not thoroughly tested.
Hearsay.

I'm pro disc, semi-pro shadow. But in my experience shadowing, I hit the sweet spot (MB/MF3/MF3/MB) on a modest fraction of my Mind Blasts. There's too much going on, between movement and the awkward timing of refreshing VT and DP, to have the timing be more elegant than that. At all the values of haste I've played with (up to around 650), I always find minor gaps in the rotation. Always. Having to wait 0.5 seconds before starting to cast VT, or having 0.7 before MB comes back up, etc...the timing is too polyrhythmic, too stochastic (oh yeah, big-word day!) to craft and seamlessly execute a plan of action for all of those potential gap sizes.
Until I see actual math that shows how those ever-present gaps are reduced significantly, or the dps potential increased significantly, at specific quanta of haste, I'll be gearing up naturally.
