Ive been playing afew months but I have a question.
Can anyone describe what the different loot systems do or what they are for? Noone in my guild seems to know the difference between group loot and need before greed for example
Thanks

You can't need items that you can't use.
Which means that a Warrior can ninja cloth, but a Mage can't ninja plate.

No, because the cloth would all have spellpower/Intellect.

So? he can still use it.
The Need Before Greed mechanics were changed during this patch. You can only "Need" on an item of the highest Armor level that you can wear (I.E Rogues can only need Leather, and Warriors can only need plate, and maybe not plate with "Caster stats" on it)

With the new changes to need/greed...
you must be able to equip said item
it must be of your highest armor proficiency
it must be relevant to your class (pure melee, warriors, rogues, death knights, cannot need on spellpower gear)
You can still greed anything and can DE anything able to be. (given you have a high enough chanter in the group)

What about Healers/Casters (Shamans/Druids/Paladins)?
They can only need on their highest armor type. Plate for paladins, mail for shamans and leather for druids.
