This is going to be an attempt to write a story sentence by sentence by whoever wants to participate.
Rules:
Only one sentence per post and no double posting.
Your sentence must logically follow the one before it.
Keep the story believable. Fantasy, science-fiction, and a bit of surrealism are allowed; giant man-eating bread sticks are not.
The main character is Robert "Bob" Allen. Other characters are allowed, but keep the story centered around him.
Here's the first sentence:
Robert sat by the window looking out at the rainy, gloomy and incessantly dull day in store for him.
Not really what I had in mind. Carry on.
