Dagger drop-priority

Ok so....
Should muti rogues get first priority on dagger drops with no questions asked? I recently ran toc 10 and the muti rogue says ok m8 il pass on all axe's and you pass on all daggers and i thought this sucks somewhat ...I thought screw this a rogue should be able to roll on any daggers that drop.
Why should getting a decent pvp dagger be easier for a mut rogue? Is it just a perk of speccing mut?
Also if a dagger drops that is superior to my mh wep then surely its is ok for me to roll on it if its worth respeccing for?
thoughts, opinions?

Did you tell him no? It sounds like he was asking you a question, if it didn't sound fair to you did you tell him no? That would be like Dwarf hunter telling a Nelf hunter not to roll on a gun because he gets 1% extra crit from it. If it's an upgrade, then it's an upgrade IMO. Also, make him a deal, OK you'll pass on a Dagger if he passes on any Axes, Maces or Swords that drop.

Do you care about the raid progressing in the future? (i.e.: Are you in a guild run) If yes, pass, if no, do whatever you want.
It's not like this is some esoteric morality decision.

Good point, was the other rogue a guildie or a pug, if it was a guildie, then yeah, i say pass but make the stipulation i stated above, if it was a pug, alls fair in love and warcraft.

going from combat to mut requires more than just a new weapon and a respec...... trust me
you will need 2 completely different sets of gear.... and the gear that they do share will need to be as minimal as possible due to the completely different gems that are required.
Please see my link for my setup, while I never said i was the best, I am attempting to make myself as well rounded as possible, so that i can switch specs to maximize dps, which is dependant on the fight.

I want to start off by saying that I do not have a Rogue toon. I've played one up until lv24 then stopped.
With that said, I read somewhere that rogues should spec for the best weapons they have. Is that true?

"Should" is dependant really on your priorities. Me? I've passed on several swords/maces which would be an upgrade to my dps simply because I don't like the play style of combat. Too much cooldown management and ss mashing for my tastes. An as good (or better) dagger will drop eventually. I'd rather stick to what I enjoy playing.
If you want to make sure you're gettting the highest dps possible, yes you should spec around the best weapons you have.

Pugs are a bit hazey on this matter. In our guild, I am well aware of what each spec is looking for and we try and make it as fair as possible. CB daggers isn't that great of a spec atm, so it's most likely going to be for mut. We will typically say that daggers are off spec for CB and swords/axes are off spec for Mut, and maces are off spec for both if they aren't already specced for it. Although that sounds like ALOT of options for a CB, it's really not. The liklihood of getting a dagger drop is higher than a sword or axe drop.
Personally, I like Mut ALOT more than combat. If my guild needed me to go CB for one reason or another, then I would, or, if there was such a huge increase in dps from a weapon drop maybe (219 upgraded to a 245) , but otherwise, I hate CB.

If a fast speed dagger drops and you are CQC then i see you as having equal rights as a muti rogue. but wanting to roll on a 1.8 speed dagger for pvp in a pve raid is lunacy, and pretty self centered if the dagger is an upgrade for your team mate.
I cant see guildies acting so selfishly towards others which suggests you were in a pug and unless a RL specifies other wise its every man for himself.
iknowrite I mean it's so easy to get daggers for PVP w/o doing any PVE content amirite?
But this isn't an issue of how difficult it is to get daggers for PvP. His point was rolling on an item for PvP. The complaint we have about getting PvP weapons is a completely seperate issue. Why should the PvEers have to suffer from blizzard retardedness?
