ok so we recently switched from one of us using the USB port and one of us using the ethernet port on my old Netcomm NB5 ADSL 2+ modem to using a TP Link WR542G router to a Belkin F5D5730au Modem, so that we can both use ethernet.
Anyways, we've been having a few latency issues and whatnot since, and I can't supply traceroutes as the router seemingly won't allow it.
now if it would let me do it, I would skip using the belkin altogether and just use the 542 as my ADSL router as welll, but it will not connect to my ISP unless it is going theouh the belkin :/
Just wondering if anyone can think of any ideas as to how to improve our latencies. I have the router's IP already on the modem's DMZ, and I have the port forwarding set up as well on the router, but it seems to make little difference. one PC will get good latency, and the other ends up with anywhere, from 1.4k through to 32k latency.
