Gun control is stupid

IMO keeping guns in your house is perfectly safe AS LONG AS people know how to use them,
just like it's safe to give nukes to countries, as long as you teach them how to only blow up other countries with them.
Its like keeping an untrained dog in your house, it might bite, though,
unlike an untrained dog, it's purpose is to bite things.
But if you train it, it won't bite you. Just like guns. If you know how to use them and have proper licensing and papers, keep one, they really can help with safety,
because it means there are less people with guns
. I knew a guy who got robbed,
and then made a threat which could have caused the death of an innocent person simply so that he could keep a few hundred bucks.
Here are some fear-based arguments which 'prove' that I'm right
:
A: I'm afraid of terrorists, and my government has convinced me that they are everywhere.
B; I'm afraid of organized crime
C: we ban guns, they people who want em are going to get em off the black market, which then leaves you defenseless against people who want to hurt them.
Yes, but most people actually won't kill people without reason, usually they want something, which is always cheaper than your or their life, and on the off chance that someone really is a serial killer, you're !@#$ed anyway, because he's good enough to kill multiple people without getting caught.
Just my opinions
fix'd
I've been shot at twice in my life (both with illegally owned guns) and attacked with a knife once. You may live in your safe little bubble, but that doesn't change the reality of it.

That means that fear is a solid basis for legislation to you?
I've never seen a gun in my life and I've only been cut by a knife once. But that doesn't mean I don't understand what guns can do.
yes, but does that mean that you should have a gun? because obviously you shooting back would make those people stop shooting at you. Of course, killing them would make them stop, and that's so much better.
If everyone was allowed to carry a gun people would think twice before shooting since well 15 people around them can also have guns.
I'd rather not live in a constant state of fear.

Yes, if would have had a gun (and knew how to use it ofc...I was only 14 and hadn't ever fired a gun at that point) that day I'm pretty sure there'd be one less dead innocent person.

It's not fear, it's me watching someone get shot to death and not being able to do anything about it.

That's fear of being helpless. It's admirable that you want to help someone in distress, but if you think that makes taking a life acceptable then I applaud your ability to rationalise.
Edit: Just to clarify. I'm not against protecting yourself, but I don't see the logic in fighting firearms with firearms. Especially when you consider the "progress" in weapons development, those new and more destructive weapons will eventually end up in criminal hands and then in citizen hands.
It reminds me of that Itchy and Scratchy segment where they get out bigger and bigger guns until they eventually blow up everything. A extreme example, but still appropriate, I think.

First off, I can hit a man's arm from 20 yards easily. That aside, if I only had a shot at his chest/head I wouldn't even think twice--of course I'd shoot him.

Also, if everyone was allowed to carry a gun, and people were used to shooting people who had already shot other people, what's to stop those same people from shooting people who, say, robbed a bank, sold drugs, went too slowly on the freeway, or just annoyed them that day?
I applaud your ability to rationalize.

Can you honestly say you could do it under extreme stress?
I don't know, maybe you should go into law enforcement if you're so passionate about protecting others.

Road rage is real and people actually do shoot others because of it,
one example
People do shoot others for robbing places,
here's an example of a man bragging about it.
People do shoot drug dealers,
here's an example
and Columbine is a good example of people shooting people they don't like, as is gang warfare.
This is the exact same argument used by abortion advocates: if we ban abortion everyone will just get them illegally and the mortality rate will sky-rocket.
I can link you just as many stories of people with guns saving the day.
LOL! Maybe at a shooting range but actually aiming at someone and shooting someone who is shooting at you if a completely different story
I love how you base your argument on what you think my shooting ability is.

Lol people don't think things through. If abortions illegal will a small percentage of people get them illegally? Yes. Will the majority have the child. Without a doubt.
Will people kill people just because? Yes. Will people shoot someone on the freeway regardless of gun laws? Yes. Will people still rob places regardless of gun laws? Yes
I think if everyone carried a gun people will do it less.
Yes, because of fear. I just don't think you can solve the problems guns cause by increasing the number of people who carry guns.
I completely understand that guns
can
save lives. But guns are usually the reason those lives are in danger.

Yes, because of fear.
Why do you keep saying that. Fear has nothing to do with whether you're carrying a gun or not.

Also, it isn't the same argument, because you are the one saying 'if you ban guns, people will get them illegally and because civilians won't be able to protect themselves, the mortality rate will increase'
When did I say that?
