Of course, don't forget, Alterac turned on the entire Alliance during the Second War, so before you condemn the elves, the humans did it too. Alleria though, convinced the Elves to give support after the attack on the Elven nations, and to provide help for the Alliance Expedition. The elves withdrew at the end of the Second War because they saw the Alliance being splintered by in-fighting and conflicts about the orcs; the biggest one of course being they left them alive, so they withdrew just like Trollbane and Greymane.

No, they sent an small group to the Alliance to honour the treaty, then when it became clear that the Orcs, who had joined forces with the Trolls, were a bigger threat then realized then joined up with the Alliance. And they fought alongside them till the end, as well as giving people for the Expedition. After Alleria left, as she was the most vocal for killing the greenskins, the other elves, seeing the state of the Alliance of Lordaeron, again, the bickering and in-fighting, as well as leaving the orc alive, withdrew, and then during the Third War, were slain by the prince of the kingdom (in their eyes).
