Interesting. You have a link to the article itself? I have a friend I'd like to pass this on to.

I didn't think anyone still thought we actually evolved directly from apes?

What is the cool trend these days? I never can keep up with the fashion.

That we're clones of aliens, left here as a sociobiological experiment.

The biggest problem I have with this thread is the title. The story of how we got here is the same today as it was a year ago as it was a century ago. The only thing that changed is people's opinions as to what that story is. Those opinions will continue to change indefinately.

When did that become popular? Last I heard that was what some whack job on the radio was talking about. It is worth looking into if you have an open mind. It has been awhile since I looked into it but so far it is the best theory I have heard in regards to how we can't seem to coexist with the rest of the life on this planet.

We are, in fact, aliens from a galaxy far away.

Hold your mouth MyTie, lest Zenu hear you and unleash his wrath upon us all.

No it isn't. The history of humankind has been the same, but the stories that have been told involving that history have changed constantly (from the mystical to the factual as time has progressed).

You just repeated what I said and replaced 'story' with 'history', which is what I meant.
SOMEONE GET THIS MAN A PLAQUE!

I just don't like you using the word "story" to define the history of humankind. Its degrading; its as if you think we are just part of some child's bedtime story. Maybe you feel like you're insignificant, but I don't care to be lumped in with someone who sees himself so lowly.

I'll start with "Why all the mistakes and inefficiencies?"
Examples . . .?

I didn't know anyone could actually survive with only 1 chromosome. Maybe I'm thinking of people with one Y chromosome...
Also, to add to your list, what about our vestigial organ AKA the appendix?
