Should it's existance be canon or not in your opinion?
Or any of the prismatic weapons to come in wow or in fan-fics?
It's existence should be canon, but who wields it? No.
Lore should enhance, not undermine, a player experience.
But the story of Quel'Delar ends. In order to continue with it, it needs to be in the hands of a NPC, Liadrin, an unarmed blood elf paladin is most fitting for that weapon.
Besides, the canon might go that the wielder traded Quel'delar for something (s)he found in ICC or shadowmourne. Or the weapon dissed the user after a while, like the ring did with golum.
Speaking of famed weapons, did you notice that the (real) ranger general uses a legendary from TBC?

Are you going to complain that the Ashbringer from Vanilla Naxxramas is non-canon becouse Tirion got it in Wrath?
And gorehowl, that we got in Kara, is now in the hands of Garrosh until he dissed it in SoO
Aslo I belive that Quel'delar is a STR 2h sword, and that it's original wielder may have traded it for Shadowmourne. Would be nice for some dialog from liadron about details.

I really think that the Lore quest line weapons should fall under the shadow of 'a Hero' did this; you can RP it as you being the hero but remember that while it's personal canon, it doesn't always match Lore canon. After all, Zeran stole Bolvar and Draenosh from the front of the Wrathgate to present to the Lich King, but it isn't canon by any stretch.
Items like the Quel's, the Legendary's and the rest are amusing diversions but they are not the actual canon: Atiesh belongs to Medivh/Med'an not the players and so on and so forth. That is why none of my characters actually 'succeed' in the big weapons; they may have been part of the group but the weapon left their hands following the end.
As for the Blood and High discussion, I'm not touching that with a 50 foot polearm.

I'm just happy they haven't ruined Shadowmourne. But the day Morgraine starts carting it around I will be sincerely displeased.

/sigh
The air is thick with green eyed knife ear superiority.
AND ITS GLORIOUS.
Anar'alah belore.
It's about as glorious as a drill to the forehead.
For you maybe, not for me, for me its awesome.
Honestly, Quel'delar is one of those things that shouldn't be canonized. It was a player quest chain for player characters to become the bearer, it shouldn't be given to a lore character and thus render every player's personal experience moot.
You should had been used to it by now, we're annonymous "adventurers" we don't get to do anything important. its why all the boss kills belong to Maiev/Tirion/Thrall/etc.
I don't feel like my experience was moot, much the same way as I didn't felt like my Lich King kill was moot, just because there's a big shiny statue of Tirion in dalaran instead of one of me.
Or maybe I'm just bitter because any gaming company that canonizes anything ambiguous always gives me the short end of the stick.
How so?

While I haven't played in at least 2 years, I don't feel like I'm be undermined by this. I just think its awesome.
exaclty.
I think its awesome that canonically, the blade belongs to a blood elf. And if there's any elf out there that deserves it, its Liandrin, given who was the previous wielder of Quel'delar. Lana'thel and Thalorien.
Its always a champion of silvermoon that wields it.
There are some things that I wish were canon for us (the players) but when it comes to quel'delar, I just wanted that thing to be canonically in the hands of the sunreavers where it belongs. So I'm happy at least that bit was given.

This is also a good point, In my personal canon, my DK was the one who purified Quel'delar, but passed the blade to Liandrin after making Shadowmourne, given that Quel'delar is a blade of light, and my character harnesses the darkness.
EDIT: In conclusion, taking away my personal bias towards
ugh, look, horde getting more shiny toys and making high elves look even worse
, I feel its just a bad design choice.
You're making it sound like the alliance gets nothing. When in reality nothing could be farther from the truth.
Jaina got the Staff of Antonidas, and later on infused it with the power of Lei Shen, Khadgar got Atiesh.
And those are just the two off the top of my head.
Just because a good portion of the high elves became blood elves, and just because you all hate the high elves, doesn't mean they don't exist and that they don't deserve it any more than the blood elves.
Yes it does. The weapon is a symbol of Silvermoon, wielded by the mightiest champion of the city. To have that weapon on the hands of someone that doesn't represents silvermoon anymore, would be as sacrilegious as an orc wielding Lothar's sword and shield. Or Varian's armor.
Some relics belong in the hands of their rightful people. And like it or not, the sword belongs to the BLOOD elves. Even when it was lost in northrend it was blood elven hands that gripped it, not high elven.
And no, this is not faction bias speaking for me. For example, I honestly feel like Trol'kalar should be in the hands of the alliance, specifically Dannath. This despite the fact that we've now twice done a quest-chain to claim that sword for the horde.
Maybe one day, it'll be back in the hands of an alliance hero? maybe. But I definitely wouldn't like to see any horde hero wielding it to battle.
And if some day, they add it to some alliance big shot NPC, I'll still not feel like all my quest-chain to claim it for the horde was moot or pointless. The weapon is a patrimony of the alliance, and that's that.
I'm just happy they haven't ruined Shadowmourne. But the day Morgraine starts carting it around I will be sincerely displeased.
Nah, if there's one weapon I want him to carry is Ashbringer. Its how it should be D=

Its true.
huh, I wonder why I never noticed that.
Then again, that bow is probably the least "Legendary" out of all legendaries, since there's practically no lore about it at all.
Not that the other legendaries have this HUUUUUUUGE backstory or anything, but they have at least a little bit of something. But with that bow, almost nothing is known about it, or why is it even legendary.
On a different note, huh, the alliance's equivalent of Lady Liandrin in WoD for the defense of Talador is Exarch Maladar. Apparently in Alternate!Draenor he didn't went all crazy.

*gasps* It means that Maladaar's black and red armour, so similar to that of the Blood Knights, had been foreshadowing all along!

I really, really, hope all these armors/weapons that tne NPCs are wearing in WoD ALPHA are just silly placeholders to make lore fans go wild. I mean, if Halduron is in hunter T5 wearing Thori'dal, and my Night Elf Hunter can do exactly the same, it really doesn't show much of how high his rank is... actually, it may look that I've just won a duel against him and looted all his gear.
I mean, who else is a badass hunter on the horde? He should get some unique gear. Thori'dal, despite being legendary, is not unique.
Same with Sylvanas
, if I'm not mistaken her bow is the
Season 6 Elite PvP bow
... Looks like she's prepared for player's attacks, huh?

Actually, that screenshot of Halduron goes all the way back to patch 4.1 in cataclysm, its not from WoD.

Sadly not every leader has a unique model, or a unique weapon. In that regard Varian is the only lucky bastard that got both. Everyone else got either half the deal with a unique model (Vol'jin, Tyrande, Malfurion, Jaina, Anduin, Sylvannas, Velen, Thrall) or a unique weapon.
There are still a lot of racial leaders that lack a unique model (Gelbin, Gallywix, Greymane, Baine, Lor'themar, Moira, Muradin, Falstaad, etc)
Blizzard just gives them a new model when its their turn to have a significant enough role in the story, and sometimes not even then (As exemplified by Lor'themar)

But..... in Alternate!Draenor he's not insane, so he uses the same armor as every other Vindicator.

o_O Levixus is gonna show up too, though I'm not sure if he's a good guy or not.
Probably leading the Sargerei draenei? Who knows.

That would be a cool questline - showing us and letting us see for oursevles Levixus' slow fall into the Legion and quick rise to power in the Sargerei (as a boss of a Sargerei dungeon?)

Only the shoulders. The texture is a recolored vanilla death knight - see for example

Yep. I was surprised when I did the questline in TBC that Levixus used to be a Draenei before becoming an Eredar, and you even meet his father and all. But by the time we see him, he's long fallen into evil.
I wonder if we get to see that gradual descent in WoD. The database in WoD lists Levixus as humanoid rather than demon, so I'm guessing this is before he became a man'ari eredar. Likely a member or leader of the Sargerei.

I spy with my little eye...........
Atiesh
.
Looks like Khadgar is indeed the one wielding it instead of med'sue. Also, he's sporting the default human male model. I wanna believe this is because he's gonna get a (more) unique model soon.

That would be sweet. And hopefully this means Med'Sue is being swept nicely under the rug somewhere.

What happened to his beard? And where is Khadgars pipe of insight?
And is that the new warden or is Maiev coming back? (wonder if Maiev gets a uniqe warden model if she returns)

Think I heard blizzard themself admiting Med'sue to be a mistake.
