Well, the only reason I asked about the dark shaman was because the shaman lore seems so sketchy in regards to what they can ask for and when. There're not quite as simple as the Death Knight or the Warlock.
For example, the spirit of water tells Nobundo "..If the elements deem your cause just, we will assist you in any way possible."
And yet wowpedia says about the Elemental Spirits: "The Spirits care nothing of the battle between order and chaos, and have only a
passing interest
in the conflict of good and evil..." However I can't tell what this is based off of so...
But then Drek'Thar (the senile old goat) says to Thrall "I am granted these things because I ask, with respect in my heart, and I am willing to offer something in return. I request only the barest needs for myself and my people. At times, I ask great things, but only when the cause is good and just and wholesome. In return, I thank these powers, knowing they are borrowed only, never bought. They come to me because they choose to, not because I demand it!"
So, shaman(s) are in a sense, paladins of the elements... you know not in regards to means, but as far as
morality
. I guess I don't really have a question other than: Does the "
Lord of the Clans
" Have anything more to say on this that I'm not getting?
Finnaly from the Dark Shaman page, "The Taunka have some strong similarities to the dark shamans, since they are also known to force the elements into servitude and controle them rather than asking them for aid like normal shaman do. It is possible that the Taunka shamans are actually dark shamans."
/shrug I'm clueless. :P

The Elements can if they want to, deny a shaman assistance. That's what happened on Draenor after all, when the Orcs started falling under the corruption of the Legion. The Elements themselves are about Balance to the world; it's why Shamans on both factions can draw upon their powers to fight without the Elements saying 'No'.
Dark Shamans force the Elements to fight for them, and were first seen in the manga Shaman. The Taunka do force the Elements to work with them, but they mainly did that as they live in a harsh land without a lot of leeway for mistakes; if it was force the elk to come to them or they starve well....

/sigh
Okay, how bout a witch doctor then? Would it be too much to rp a shaman as a witch doctor?
(thanks for the feedback btw)
Post by
Adamsm
Yes, since the Witch Doctors don't use the same abilities as a Shaman,

Crap, so with a shaman, I can't really do anything with it other than rp a shaman. lol XD

Does anyone if there is something wrong with an Elemental Plane would that influence Azeroth. I'm thinking beyond if one of the Lord's decided to do some meddeling. As in if there is wrong with the basic structure of the plane?

Cataclysm had 2 instances of this, and 2 aversions.
The Plane of the Earth (Deepholm) got coalesced into Azeroth when the world pillar got shattered, this nearly caused Maelstrom to quite literally collapse into the elemental plane of the earth. Apart from completely destroying this plane and all who live in it, it would had also completely drained the only ocean in azeroth, leading to a massive loss of life on the planet.
The Plane of Fire (Firelands) also started bleeding into our own world in hyjal, and it resulted in several parts of it burning, eventually a small bit of Sulfuron Spire manifested itself on our world, and had we not stopped ragnaros, its likely the entire plane of fire would had followed.
The planes of Air (Skywall) and Water (Abyssal Shelf) had started to bleed into our world too, but those were stopped much quicker, and that's why there's only the briefest gleam of them here.
A shame =( I really REALLY liked the plane of Air, and would had loved to visit it some more.

And I would like to see more of the water realm.
Darn shame they didn't make the raid.

Even more ridiculous was both their excuse for not doing so (The plot was resolved? WTF? that was a cliffhanger, not a resolve) and the outcome of that plot arc.
Its one of the many MANY reasons I hate cataclysm so much.
So we toil really hard to prevent the twilight hammer from kidnapping an elemental lord and using his power, we go in to rescue him, we fail to save him and he gets kidnapped anyways.......... and then nothing. Blizz says the plot is resolved and that's that. And NOTHING HAPPENS. At no point do we see super-powered water mobs, or tidal waves, or corrupted neptulon, nada.
The hammer kidnapped a #$%&ING ELEMENTAL LORD and nothing happened at all.
Cataclysm just left plot hole after plot hole.

As a nit pick here Rank but tit was the Naga who kidnapped him; there were no Twilight Hammer Cultists in Vashj.

Who were working for the twilight hammer. We see them holding hands with Forgotten Ones and Faceless ones in the Throne of the Tides. Not to mention the kraken. And its no secret that Azshara is a puppet of the old gods.
there were no Twilight Hammer Cultists in Vashj.
The guys inside Nespirah and L'ghorek would like to have a word with you :P

The guys inside Nespirah and L'ghorek would like to have a word with you :PI remember Naga's, but I don't remember any Cultist there.
I also am still hesitant of calling Azshara a puppet; after everything the Naga were doing, it still seems like it was more for more power to Azshara over the Old God. I have a feeling that when we finally get around to fighting her, she's gonna turn on N'Zoth and try to take Azeroth for herself.

=/ you said the same about deathwing, but in the end he was just another puppet.
IF the old gods could completely destroy and manipulate an aspect, a simple vain and egotistical elf should be no problem for them.
And there were cultists there

IF the old gods could completely destroy and manipulate an aspect, a simple vain and egotistical elf should be no problem for them.Yeah...but this is the same Elf who thought that she was meant to be Sargeras Queen, and she had the power level to back that up. I have a feeling after the Old God upgrade, she's now the most powerful magic user on Azeroth, and while the Old Gods can manipulate, she's still so focused that she is meant to be the ultimate ruler of all, I could see her turning on them, since only she is meant to rule the land and sea of Azeroth.

Except she wasn't even a blip on Sargeras' Radar. It was all in her head that he had any interest in her. Had her summoning not be stopped chances are sargeras would had killed her on the spot.

Yea, the only elves that would have survived were the satyrs. And if the Old Gods ever win, you can kiss Azshara and the Twilight's Hammer goodbye.

Probably not; he may not have married her, but he probably would have Man'ari'ed her into a new form. After all...this was the Elf with the same level of power that was equal to Archimonde and Mannoroth.

Which is why I can see her turning on them; since she wants the world for herself.
