Pff, healing's where it's at. It feels so good to save a raid from wiping because you managed to triage well and fast enough to keep everyone alive. And then those precious two words in /ra: "good heals."
Healing isn't super hard, you get to stand back and actually watch the fight, and everyone loves you. Best role ever.
I love healing as well.
Same in TF2. Medic is so fun if I'm with a friend. You become revered.I always play Medic.
Except when I'm Sniper.
Or Engy.
And Sigma, it really isn't like that. Like I Rank said, it's mostly just like 5 Man LFG. Everyone does their role and stays quiet, until you get a bad tank and then people start complaining a lot.

So...
Movie!
While I used to be enthusiastic, I'm much more apprehensive now. Live-action really,
really
wouldn't suit WoW. The
humans
in Warcraft don't really look like
real life humans
, they look like
this
and always have. Big hands, big feet, thick chests, and broad jaws. You're going to need so much CGI for the entire Horde and all the set pieces, just render the whole thing with their
cinematics department
.

If the movie's gonna be anywhere near Source Code in terms of enjoyment, I'll consider the money spent on the ticket well spent. Sure, maybe Source Code didn't make too much sense, but it was incredibly fun, and that's what's important.
As for humans, well, I'd like to attract your attention to the
cinematic
cutscenes
of Reign of Chaos. I'd say Arthas, Medivh and Terenas look pretty normal and it's not that hard to imagine a live-action version of these.

I'm not excited for the movie...but that's just because with the exception of Mortal Kombat 1, nearly every single video game movie has been a horrific train wreck. Really not expecting anymore from the Warcraft addition to the genre.
They really should have just gone the Squareenix route and created their own movie rather then letting a Hollywood company set it up.

Amen brother.
I'm not enthusiastic at all. For plenty of reasons.
As Skree said, live action makes no damned sense. If any of the more exotic races show up (Draenei, Tauren, Troll, Orc, Goblin, Pandaren, ect) they'll need SO MUCH CGI they may as well just save themselves the trouble and make it full CGI in the first place. We've all seen just how absolutely mindblowing their CGIs can be in ALL of their games.
The second reason (and this is the reason I resent wow more than anything) is because ever since Warcraft as an RTS died, and Wow was born, the entire franchise has devolved into nothing more than alliance vs horde. That's it. Screw the main REAL bad guys. Screw the good coherent plot. Screw the well established mythos and lore. Screw it all. At the end of the day, we all know, fans of the franchise will be picking apart EVERYTHING to see just how much alliance favoritism was in it, and how much horde favoritism is in it.
I know I myself have fallen for that crap, and I'm far from the only one. And this movie will be no different. Either will show blatant favoritism for one side, or for the other. Painting one as the heroes, and one as the villains. And if it doesn't, its gonna be panned by the fans of the franchise who only wanna go see more alliance&horde tear at each other.
/sighs.
But the biggest reason I'm not really excited about this movie at all is what Adamsm said: Its got nothing to do if its warcraft or not, ALL videogames movies I can remember sucked HARD.
Street Fighter
(all 3 of them),
Resident Evil
(All 6 of them),
Max Payne
,
House of the Dead
,
Tomb Raider
(both of them, but more so the sequel),
Prince of Persia
,
Dead or Alive
,
D
oo
M
(yes, spelling it like this is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY >_> don't judge me),
Battleship
,
Dungeons & Dragons
,
Final Fantasy Advent Children
(its a "love or hate" movie, fans of FF7 like it, many more just don't) and SPECIALLY
Final Fantasy Spirit Within
and OHH SO MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY MANY more movies that have been adapted from Videogames have taught us one thing:
That videogames don't translate well to the big screen. They never have, and they probably never will. In fact, the more popular the game is, the more likely the movie is to suck. Just because a game becomes a big hit among the gamer population, doesn't mean the movie is auto-guaranteed to succeed, or even be passably good.
You could make a kickass TV show out of a videogame if you're willing to put the work for it, and they can be translated quite well into books if the writer is any good. But for movies? yeah good luck trying to sell that.
The opposite holds true just as much, since Videogames made out of movies tend to be among the worst games you could possibly burn your money into.
Considering how much I hate "tank/healer" worship, you're convincing me to stay the #$%^ away.
Not my fault Blizzard hasn't made a healer/tank that I LIKE playing.
Meh, its not like they're gonna be constantly talking about it. Tanks and heals do their job fine, and everyone is happy and QUIET. Its when you screw up that they'll curse you, your children, and your children's children.

5 man LFG? Oh boy. I don't know how you guys manage to have good experiences with the WoW community.
And I dunno why do so many people generalize the random groups as being 9 times out of 10 a horrible nightmare full of some of the worst the internet has to offer.
I run no less than 40 5mans per week, along with 10 LFRs. Statistically speaking, less than 15% of all the people I meet on either, act like jerks. The rest are anywhere from indifferent/silent/distant, to jolly/friendly/cool.
I've actually made FIVE RealID friends from meeting cool people on LFG. Sure, there are some runs that are horrible because of bad people that are a nasty mixture of bad players, and insulting, rude, nasty, racist, xenophobes. But those are the EXCEPTION, they are NEVER the norm.

Post by

ohh god, why? WHY HIM? couldn't they choose someone ELSE to fix Kalec?
Come on, so Kalec goes from the mess he became in tides of war, to become Knaaks new avatar as Krasushonin 2.0 improved and upgraded with even more sueness?
Jesus H Christ.

Rank, Knaak created Kalec in the first place....
So? I really hate the way he writes, and SPECIALLY hate the way he characterizes everyone. Now he's gonna latch onto Kalec as his new pet since Krasus and Rhonin are dead.
Poor kalec, first he gets hooked up with a maniac, then he gets all remnants of his character shattered to pieces, and now look who's asked to put him back together.
Damn, our blue little friend just CANT catch a break.

Yeah but as it was both Sunwell Trilogy and Night of the Dragon that had Kalec as a real thinking breathing character and not the pathetic shell that started in Twilight of the Aspects and then was further ruined by Tides, I'm hoping that Knaak will at least make him more then the living plot point he was in those books.
Edit: In other words, if it's Knaak in the driver seat for Kalec, I'm optimistic again.
Edit 2: And extremely optimistic that he'll get them to give up the stupid &*!@ing romance angle with Jaina....
Edit 3: Since you know, other then one small reference to him in the Shieldwall quests, Kalec is mysteriously absent from the rest of the line...which makes that whole romance tumor of Tides of War even more disgusting now.

Rankkor
Why are you so certain the romance angle will be dropped? And him being absent from the shieldwall dailies isn't a real proof of anything. Kalec is not alliance, and while he may have a beef against garrosh, Garrosh isn't the rest of the horde, and understandably he doesn't want to drag the rest of the flight into a war.
Me, I think they're gonna exploit that romance angle to create cheap drama, since they hooked him up with someone who's going down the slippery rope, real fast, giggling along the way.
From what I've seen in the 5.2 spoilers, Jaina really is delusional, and she's gonna keep loosing it more and more till she's just another whackjob like Maiev that has to be put down. Having Kalec still pinning for her would be a cheap (and lame) way to create a sense of drama, so no, I doubt the romance tumor will just evaporate.
It probably wont get mentioned in the book because the book is before the aspects were even aspects, AKA, in a time so far in the past, not even the curse of flesh existed. I doubt we'll see any mortal races taking any prominent role.
Post by
Adamsm
He may not be Alliance but from the horrific way they ended Tides, they did induct him formally into the Kirin Tor, which means during the cleansing quest line, you should have at least seen Kalec there speaking out against what Jaina and Vereesa were doing.
So yes, I'm hopeful that it means the actual romance angle has been shattered. I know that Kalec seeing things in the past, during the Ordering means that there won't be any mortals, but I can still hope to the Naaru that we'll never ever ever ever see a reference to that &*!@ing god awful romance sub-plot tumor ever again, and that one of my all time favorite lore characters can be restored to the strong, headstrong, forceful and at times pain in the ass once again. I really hated how he was portrayed in Tides of War; Blizzard may have given the outline for it, but Golden still raped the character into stupidity.

Anyways:
The Zandalari again,
So really, thinking of the next expansion, which does seem to it pointing more and more that it's going to end up being Great Sea type thing with the return of Azshara and N'Zoth...I'm actually hoping they save Zul the new Zandalari King till the point, since as far as I'm aware, he's not in the boss files for the Thunder King's palace.
Cause even though Zandalar island was destroyed, I have a feeling that more Zandalari survived then it seems, and that after the Cataclysm, they still wouldn't put all the eggs in one basket; more then likely there is still a new Zandalar island out there, and Zul and his forces are just waiting for the Pandaria strike force to link up again with the Mogu before making their move.
Will be interesting.
And of course, seeing the return of Kul Tiras next expansion too, just because the game needs Proudmoore somewhere in it.

but a soundfile from lorewalker cho from 5.2 says that the zandalari king Raskhatahn died with the zandalari island.
