I see.
We have the same thing with Dath'Remar.

Well... is it really a reton? We know the magical types can live for far longer then the non-magicals (hold's up Meryl).

Not really. As I said its quite subtle.
Its re re retcon! Once lore said that the average High Elf lived for thousands of years, then the encyclopedia said that it was a privilege for a few. Now we've got yet another high elf that lived for thousands of years =D.
Yes it was a trap. *Runs away with the cookie*
Wait, which High Elf are you talking about here?

Thalorien Dawnseeker, who, according to Quel'Delar's lore lived for almost 4k years.
Almost 3k according my quick math, but whatever. heh
Still, if Blizz wants to get really lazy they can just attribute his longevity to Quel'Delar's magics, if they cared.

It is almost 3k, I got a bit confused on dates. And they probably won't.
I never understood the RPG's life spans though.
When magic is involved a race's natural lifespan means very little.
I hate when I have to use the "LAWL MAGIC" cop-out, but I blame Blizzard for that.

Meryl.
Technically Meryl is dead already, but he's been using his magic to keep himself... active since that point. But yeah, it's like the Night Elves, just because their source of magic is gone, doesn't mean they all drop down to a few hundred years of life.

I have come to a conclusion.
The Titans came to Azeroth twice.

Well, the way I see it is that:
The Titans come to Azeroth, do battle, then lock away the Old Gods.
Create Well of Eternity, set up Titan Sheild, Earthen, Titan bases, Dragon Aspects, all that stuff. Then leave.
Life begins to flourish, Furbolgs, Trolls, Aqir, Night Elves.
Curse of Flesh (Approx -15000, yes 5000 years before the sundering)
Titans arrive again, shortly after the Curse has been 'activated'
Re-seal Old God prisons, create Curse resistant variants of the 'Seed Races', then leave again.
Furbolg
said:
Furbolgs originated from Northrend. They lived on Azeroth before Titans came to the world. Their oral histories speak of the first time Titans stepped on the world and roamed the wilds.
Now, how are the Furbolg to know that this is the first time? And the way I see it, Azeroth before the Ordering was un-inhabitable (excluding Old Gods and Elementals)
Human
said:
The humans are descendant of the vrykul, they originated as an aberration of the vrykul race. Around 15,000 years ago, the gods "abandoned" the vrykul, in a certain time after that, their children were born "weak and ugly". King Ymiron ordered all those children to be killed, but not all parents obeyed this order and instead hid their children, to grow up far away from Northrend.
The earliest known history indicates that they may have been called the Azotha. But, between the finding of magic from the Well of Eternity and the Sundering (approximately 14,000-10,000 years ago), the Azotha converted into the humans,
Weaker children were a stranger side-effect of the Curse of Flesh on the Vrykul. This also means that the Curse happened before the Sundering.
