I don't think Patty meant the Amani. They don't even have a role in anything recent.
The majority of the trolls in the game are island trolls. Or at least jungle.
Yeah, but even the Ice trolls; both the ZD ones and the Dun Morogh ones have the Caribbean accent to their way of talking, as do the few Dark Trolls in Lower Blackrock, and like I said, the Amani with Zul'jin also have it.... I'd rather they put their voices back to normal, like the Forest trolls were in Warcraft 2.Yes, but that hardly has anything to do with Patty's point.
For the island and jungle trolls in the game, it would be nice if they actually got someone from the Caribbean to voice them.

Heh, I know, sorry, went on a little rant about the trolls and how Blizzard changed them all... for no real reason. But yeah, would be nice if all the races got actual voice actors who are really from where the voices are based on.

Really they changed? I though they all sounded the same since War3.All the trolls from Warcraft 3 were technically Island trolls heh; it's in WoW that every troll, whether they are part of the Jungle/Island tribe or not, that are now speaking Caribbean.
So, just a quick question: Putress finding the cure to the Undead Plague is or isn't cannon?
When did he find that? I'm guessing a Horde quest I haven't done yet heh.

There were Forest Trolls Npcs with their own voices.
Ah, forgot about them... but still, in WoW, all trolls speak with the Caribbean twang to their voices; go listen to the trailer for Zul'Aman; Zul'jin is no longer the gruff voice he was in Warcraft 2, he sounds like he's been toking on a joint for too long now.....
When did he find that? I'm guessing a Horde quest I haven't done yet heh.
In the lead-up to the release of Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Putress was an important figure during the second Scourge Invasion, who researched the zombie infestation from an apothecary camp in Shattrath City. Beginning on the fifth day of the outbreak, Horde players were able to undertake a quest in which he sent them as envoys to their racial capital with a severed head containing both the plague and an anti-plague, believing it to hold the secret of a cure. It would appear his research has led to his promotion as grand apothecary
Ah, well, considering what Putress did... not that hard to believe it was just a fake.

Ah, well, considering what Putress did... not that hard to believe it was just a fake.Nah, it's legit. He gave it to the Argent Dawn and apparently it passed their standards.
However, it was almost certainly Varimathras who supplied it to Putress, perhaps in the form of those plague spores he gave to him to complete the Blight.

indeed putress did made a cure for undeath, but only the earliest stages, for the most complex stages of undead there is no cure yet.
only victims who have just recently (less than a couple of hours ago) been infected can be cured.
as such it's a cure usefull for the infected players on the scourge invation, but useless for the forsakens, or ebon knights, or any other undead out there who wishes to be alive again.
and now that we are talking about undeads, here's my 2fingers-cross that in cataclysm we see more undead-versions of the races.
all we've seen is undead humans and some undead elves.
I wanna see some zombie or skeletal orcs, how about zombie or skeletal taurens? zombie or skeletal dwarf?
cataclysm isn't a "scourge themed" expantion, but Deathwing does uses necromancy (he raises onyxia and nefarian as undead) so seeing more races in their undead forms of zombies and skeletons would be intresting.

Of course, seeing as the Lich King created a whole new version of it...where not even the Naaru, Nature Gods, or other powerful forces could stop it, was a semi-moot point for what Putress did, before he betrayed everyone.

na, the lich king didn't created a whole new version of it.
the reason we weren' able to save brindenbrad was because he was infected a long time ago, when we meet him he is about to sucumb to the plage, usually it takes several days for a person to die from the plage.
so brindenbrad was several days infected with the plage and thus the cure of putricide wound't work on him.
besides, the creation of a cure for the earlier stages of undeath has nothing to do with putress betrayal :P there are some forsakens who don't like their new condition and wish to go back to their former selves alive once more, wheter putress was one of them or not is irrelevant, he wanted to rule the forsakens (while being the puppet of varimatras) and as a ruler he wanted his people to be cured.
that doesn't mean he isn't a backstabing SOB (he really is)
i'm pretty sure that alextrazsa or remulos could had saved brindenbrad if only we had found him sooner

i'm pretty sure that alextrazsa or remulos could had saved brindenbrad if only we had found him soonerI don't think that's it. Paladins were immune to the original plague. The general consensus is that the Lich King whipped up a new plague (most likely Putricide's) that can kill Paladins, and presumably the cure wouldn't work on that.

Aye, I'm sure there was a stronger version of the Plague created following the Lich King's reawakening; as the original Scourge one had all those unforeseen bugs*cough*The Forsaken*cough*; the new one was suppose to keep something like that from happening again.

Sorry to drag it off topic, but WTF happened to this board? It's like it died.

Sometimes it happens. There aren't any good discussion going on right now and no ones ask lore question here.

It's the same pretty much everywhere; all the boards have gone quiet lately.

Simply put, people who don't RP don't see a point in coming to this board as there's no lore discussions at this time. With no people coming to the board, and no new influx of fanfics (which can spark a topic or two) for a little while... yeah.
Pre-expansion blues affects everyone.
Aye. I'm debating whether to make a new RP, as A20 is officially ended, CoL is kinda just a sandbox (don't get me wrong Gum, it's cool but I don't see it lasting long). AAaS is still going, but slowly, and same with Reckoning of a New Age.

Wait, I'm going to camp for two weeks and am going to need a fresh start, heh.
