Because there is no point to it; Kul Tiras isn't in game, and Southshore is gone come Cata; and that's an Alliance only thing.... not to mention how the Horde fans would react.

Well if its just a one day thing once a year, and I'm sure there's a Horde equivilent or something that can be used somewhere.

Horde don't exactly enjoy their victories over the alliance as fel horde.
That's why I said "or something." There has to be some kind of definite "Horde Only" celebration that can be used.

The only problem would be mirroring these with a real world holyday.
Well if their just a one-day thing. But yeah, you make your point.

Hallow's End just revolves around the Forsaken, but everyone celebrates it. And just because it said Kul Tiras and Southshore celebrate doesnt mean other people don't. There is a good chance Stormwind celebrates the day it was reclaimed.Hallow's End was around since before the Forsaken. And besides, it just wouldn't be fair to the Horde, imo. Unless you want to give us a Kosh'arg or something... :P

Meh... Horde shouldn't get Summer Soltice if the Alliance is getting a day celebrating the downfall of the Horde.

And as for the real world holiday... I was thinking something like Veterens Day or Memorial Day.
Not enough for something major, but like Morec said, it would make a neat little something.
Aye, as Skree said, the Forsaken altered the Wickerman festival to suit their own purposes, but the Holiday itself has been around for a long while.
As for the Memorial/Veterans day that wouldn't work; what about the veterans of the Third war for the Horde side? Sorry, but no, leave out a racial holiday designed to promote hatred between the factions; we don't need something like that in game; there's already enough of that.

Actually I think something like this Post-Cataclysm would be a very good idea. The opposing parties in every war, ever, have always used some sort of propaganda to get their civilians behind them. Such a festival that's purely faction-based, that celebrates the greatness of one faction and the evil of the opponent would be a great way of illustrating that it's once again wartime.
It might be a little campy, but I think it would be fun.
Plus, I think it would be great to see a new Kosh'harg festival.

So, something I've been thinking about for a while; if the Leaders go down... who steps up?

New leaders.
