inner focus is a
personal buff
(not a a spell for dps) that adds alot of spellpower, i believe around 200 at 80, if not more.

1) Not any more
2) When I did have it:
during BL, macro'd to Potion of Wild Magic, cast MB or DP
to cast DP since DP uses alot of mana
before rezzing after a wipe to save mana to rez more people
As you can see, it's not really worth a point.

For Shadow, no, it's not worth the point.
As for Holy, it's VERY much worth the point, for using
Divine Hymn
, because it has an insane mana cost, and the +25% crit really helps.

I do not use it for Shadow, it's just not worth speccing into since nothing's really all that expensive in Shadow and there are other really great talents to take.
For Holy, I have it macroed to both PoH
and
Divine Hymn. The reason for this is that Divine Hymn - 63% of base mana - is a 10-minute CD even if I use it immediately every time it comes off CD (and I don't - it's very much an Oh Crap button), so I don't get full use out of Inner Focus with its 3 minute CD only using it there. PoH - I think 38.4% of base mana with Healing Prayers - is also expensive, but if Inner Focus comes off CD and I end up needing DH before the next PoH, I'd waste that opportunity to use IF for DH if I only macro it to PoH so I'm not going to do that.
Basically whichever one grabs it first gets it. Sometimes that's DH, usually it's PoH. I've been very happy with this setup.
Am considering setting up the PoH macro to allow me to use a mod key to cast PoH
without
Inner Focus if I know IF is off CD and I'm going to need DH soon. Just need to get around to it.

Why not have a “prayer of healing button” and an “inner focus/prayer of healing macro button”? My thought is if you use inner focus on a prayer of healing within 3 minutes of your divine hymn when inner focus is on cooldown, then you waste a lot of mana. However, if you cast regular prayer of healing spells for at least 3 minutes before you cast divine hymn and then inner focused prayer of healing from that point forward, then you will surely be putting inner focus to it’s maximum potential.

getting back to what the OP is asking...
I do not spec for Inner Focus with my Shadow Spec because it is virtually useless for a Spriest unless you decided to help out your healer and pop your divine hymn inner focus-style. You COULD use it for your Mind Blasts I suppose, but it really doesn't do a whole lot of much for you there... For mana regen purposes, it's really unnecessary for a Spriest. And to increase the crit chance of a SINGLE spell every 2 minutes really seems wasted for a talent point.
Though here's an interesting question:
if you pop your Inner focus and Trinkets for your first SWP on your target, does the increased critical strike chance stay with the SWP as it refreshes? The SP from a popped trinket sure does, that much we know. Interesting Q I would love to know the answer to.

EvilElpay: That's precisely what the edit to my PoH macro I mentioned at the end of my post would do, and for the same reason. You're right, it will be more efficient.
I guess if I were going to IF any spell in Shadow it would be Mind Sear, but still. It's a great tool for Holy and Disc, but Shadow has great tools of its own.
