(( The third of more to come... possibly... ))
-
Natalia screamed in pain as the voice pried into her mind once more. It brought with it pain and suffering. Natalia knew what it was. C'Thun. The Old God that hid underneath the sands of Silithus, the Old God the Cenarion Circle - the Druid organization to which both her and her husband belonged - fought against. It had been speaking to her for weeks now, but never on this horrible a scale.
-
You cannot fight...
- The light of Elune and the power of nature both filled her. She
would persevere through this, despite the odds. She focused on the image of her husband, commander of the forces at Cenarion Hold. Her love for him and his love for her granted her strength enough for the moment, but unless the Old God relented it's assault long enough to regain her strength, she wouldn't hold out.
-
You are tiring... Rest... Join me...
- She spat at the notion. C'Thun was a living, monstrous symbol of all that she and her allies fought against. The mere thought that she would ever side with the beast appalled her. She knew that her will couldn't hold out much longer though, and eventually she would give in, though, but not before she had made it so that she would die before she had a chance to pledge herself to the beast.
- You cannot succeed...
- The voice - as wrong as the idea seemed - spoke the truth. The Silithid goo that the despicable insects had used to strap her to the wall immobilized her. She couldn't reach the dagger that hung from her belt. Which meant that she couldn't spare herself the voice's torment. But she knew that she couldn't give up. Unless she managed to free herself she would... the thought was too horrible to think about.
-
Your mortality is your flaw...
- Natalia tried again to reach the dagger. This time the web-like substance snapped, and she was able to bring her hand up to her neck. The tried to press it against the soft flesh, but something stopped her. The voice was whispering to her again.
-
You're free to go...
- The goo snapped and Natalia fell to the ground. Without a second thought she ran to try and find her way out of the maddening maze of the Silithid hive. The insects tried to stop her, but the power of nature was on
her side, and she managed to fight them off. After what seemed like hours and hours of running, she finally found herself looking up at the sky one more. She began to walk toward the north, where her beloved waited for her return. Then the voice began to chuckle, and then laugh maliciously.
-
You weak minded fool...
- The image of the outside world faded, and she found herself deep within the bowls of the hive again. A massive Silithid creature stood before her, ready to strike. Venom and fresh gore dripped from its fangs, and it's mandibles twitched with anticipation at the possibility of a fresh kill.
-
You will die...
- The creature lunged towards her, but Natalia dodged to once side. A blast of nature energy shot from her palm and struck the creature. It was heavily weakened, but not dead, and moved towards her again. He blasted the thing with nature magic several times over, but the creature wouldn't die. After several minutes of attacking it with magic, the beast finally fell. It still lived, but not for long. She walked up to the exhausted Silithid, and jabbed her dagger through its skull.
-
Witness your actions...
- The illusion then faded away, and where the Silithid had once stood now stood her husband. Dead by Natalia's hand.
-
Your mistakes are irreversible...
- The night elf tripped backwards. What had she just done? This was all C'Thun's doing, she knew that, but the guilt welled up within her. And as the sorrow, the self pitty and hate overcame her, her mental barriers faltered, and C'Thun crept in. The Old God's will dominated hers in a matter of seconds.
-
You... serve... me...
- Natalia stood, and walked back into the depths of the hive.
- Unseen to her, though, the
true illusion then faded, and Natalia's husband reverted back to his true, Silithid form.
...
- Natalia knelt in meditation. The power of C'Thun now filled her shell, and her mind was filled with his thoughts. She was now a conduit of the ancient one, and was rewarded for that. She was now more powerful then any night elf, and her power would only continue to grow.
-
Destroy them...
- She looked up, someone was coming down the tunnel that led to her chamber. Their races were of no importance to her, but the fact that they were covered with the blood of Silithid was. She stood, stroking one of the giant Silithid wasps that served as her bodyguards. "You will make a fitting sacrifice! C'thun
will retake this world!"
-
Kill... them... all...
- Natalia cast a spell that overwhelmed the invaders' minds with the glory of C'Thun. As they grappled with their thoughts she began to tear their minds apart with the same insanity that filled her. Her adversaries were resilient, though, and quickly broke free of her spells. One tossed a bolt of magic at her, but Natalia dodged it, only barely feeling the weapon's sting. In her rage she released a mighty scream that echoed within the minds of the invaders, sending them fleeing in terror. She began to heal herself with the use of the Old Gods' power. But one of the mortals had broken free of her spell prematurely, then came up behind her and struck her with his weapon.
-
Failure...
- Natalia didn't care what the voice said, though. Not anymore. In her last seconds of life she was free of C'Thun. Her mind was her own once more. Gratitude filled her, but she was too weak to express it. She wished the ones that had freed her from the monster that had made her kill her husband all the luck in the world in killed the beast. She closed her eyes, a smile on her face.
- Her pulse
ceased.
