How to Create a Successful Open RP

This idea came up in the Open War Rp in some OOC comments, so I am going to make this guide to help you make a successful Open Roleplay.
Ideas welcome.
Thanks to Dralas for helping a lot.
Main points
Interest
-Whether it be a catchy title, or an intriguing introduction, generating other peoples interest in your RP is your top priority.
Format
-Formatting your Front Page is very important. A clean, defined, organised front page will create a stronger appeal for people to join your RP.
-A front page that contains necessary information for people who want to join is essential. I recommend having and introduction post, a list of available factions and a list of current roleplayers is always helpful.
-Listing the current RPers into their appropriate factions is a must do, and sometime listing them in alphabetical order can help. Also an Inactive/Active status highly useful and some people like to include a very brief description of the character, but that is not always needed.
-Another thing to remember is that you can only fit 15000 characters in your posts (though that number is tripled if you have premium) so make sure you reserve a few boxes if you think you will go over that limit.
Relevance
-Make sure your Rp has something to do with the Warcraft universe. Wether it be current events, past battles, or a full-blown war in the future. You RP
MUST
be relevant.
-Also try to avoid creating an RP on something that has been done before. While this can still work, there is a general opinion that you avoid this.
-Try to chose an interesting event, something new. A good example is what I did with Uncharted Seas, a new idea, that had nearly nothing to do with current WoW events, yet look at how it took off. People will find something like that interesting.
Goal
-While not always needed, a goal can be vital to the success of your RP. Whether it be killing
Arthas
The Lich King, or disbanding a group of pirates, a goal, along with a villain, will play a key part in your RP.
Control
-This is your RP, while letting it flow is good, you will need to exercise some control over what is happening. Make sure that you post regularly, and keep the plot going, otherwise a good RP with a lot of potential could fail.
-Another thing to watch out for its the amount of people in each faction, it is good to try and keep a 50/50 ratio.
Other Tips and Tricks
-Creating a war-time RP is tough but fun, especially if people have to command troops. Things can get a little confusing.Make sure to add some clarification about them, maybe talk about how the war scenario started, how many troops each side has, whether or not reinforcements can be called in, if they can be called in-- how many are allowed to be called in, etc.
- A Question and Answer thread is sometimes useful. They can help cut down on the amount of Out Of Character comments, and let communication between the RPers become smoother.
-You might want to link
this thread
on your front page, as sometimes new RPers don't know the rules

I'll wait to see what you put up first. If you need this comment deleted because you were trying to reserve more boxes, just tell me.

Great idea! I have an idea for one mulling about, but I have no clue if it's good or not. Hopefully this guide will be helpful for that, and it will really boost peoples confidence about creating good ones. ^_^

Well, don't forgot to throw in the active/inactive status next to names if that is needed be. You can only have so much text in one box.

MOAR updates.
Fix'd. And remember the inactive/active thing. Also it helps to make the list of character names in alphabetical order.

Indeed sir, there is additional updates in this guide.
What else should I put in =/

Might want to double check your page, a few typo's there.
Another suggestion is to try and encourage RP'ers in the beginning to try and join equal factions, like a 50/50 ratio if possible. RP's can end quick if there is no one to fight against.

Yeah I realise the typos, goddamn Firefox deciding to cark itself, using IE with no spell check >=(.

Also, another tip is to make sure you don't start an RP that's been done before.

Changing the title, I think I can say this is done. But I will leave the second box reserved incase more additions are needed.
