Hi there,
I played my 80hunter for quite some years now, but I decided to make a paladin to heal at 80.
However I ofcourse gotta level her first. She is now level 43, and I was told thats a good level to start Prot leveling. So I went to the pirates in Tanaris, pulled over 20mobs etc. Went quite fine. My Blessing of Sanc gave me some survivabilty, and ret aura+cons kills them quite fast. However, at each pull (even 8+ mobs) I have to use at least Divine shield or LoH, and I'm also /oom very fast, even with blessing of sanc.
Am I just doing something wrong or isnt Prot leveling viable anymore?

Do you not have
any
avoidance? 4-5 mobs should easily be enough to keep your mana up for the fight. Also glyph for 10 sec cons if you're aoe grinding.

I got 13% dodge2% parry and 5.2% block. I'm going the glyph right away :).
And thanks Kenyon :)

2% parry, that's pretty impressive.... I don't think I've ever had a character with 2% parry...
I'm hoping you mean 12%? Though I somehow doubt that too, since not many items that low are itemised for parry.
Stack your defense. With Holy Shield up, you should have a goodly amount of avoidance. And really, 20 mobs is a bit much unless you have level-appropriate avoidance gear in all slots. Holy Shield up = mana recovery.
Oh, and use Seal of Light, and Judgement of Light. You shouldn't need Wisdom for mana.

Back in the dau, it was Seal of Wisdom+Sanc+Ret aura, and you could go for days with mana to heal when needed. Now its Sanc and everything is dead after a few consecrates.

Ah that 2% parry was a typo, I ment 5.2%, just as my block. However after looking to the previous mentioned thread I saw speccing for 5% parry is wrong anyway. I used Seal of wisdom and JoL, so guess I change to seal to Light then. Now if my AH just had any of the glyphs I need...
