(( And so the plot thickens ))
- The Western Plaguelands were riddled with disease and death. From the moment they entered they were aware of this. The ground was littered with rotting corpses that hadn't been raised yet or had been 'purified' - in Valinaria's words - by the Crusade and not collected. Even the very air they breathed stank of the death that surrounded them.
- As they walked across the path they had seen the nefarious Plague Cauldrons. They had considered attacking the farmstead where they stood to try and destroy them. But, after taking into consideration the sheer number of Scourge that surrounded them, they had decided that it was best to just try and ignore them and move on with their mission.
- Valinaria was scouting ahead at the moment, Nilon and the other three continued to walk down the path - conserving their strength in case they did have to make a speedy escape. Nilon peered ahead, someone was running towards them. They readied themselves for battle, but as the figure approached it revealed itself to be Valinaria.
- "Back so soon?" Nilon asked.
- "Yes," Valinaria said, gasping for breath. "Th- there are some Crusaders up ahead and, well, you had better come see for yourself." She turned back around and led the group down the path.
- They followed her to a rise overlooking a clearing. In it stood several Scarlet Crusades, as well as - causing feeling of both shock and confusion - a few demons - one Dreadlord and at least five Fel Guards. The human at the front of the group of Crusaders held an open box in his hand, a strange, green glow and an aura of power surrounding it.
- Fel power.
- Nilon had tasted Fel energies only once, and that brief contact had left him scarred. His hand touched his cheek, just below his eye. Once a sapphire blue they now glowed an unholy green.
- The lead Crusader nodded. "Yes, this should do nicely," he said, grinning and closing the box. "Balnazzar will be pleased."
- Balnazzar. Nilon didn't know who, or what, that was, but he was sure of one thing: the name dripped with evil.
- "It is best he does," the Dreadlord said, his accent thick, "it was no simple matter to retrieve that idol."
- "We'll make sure that it reaches the Scarlet Bastion in one piece. Give our regards to our masters in the Nether."
- "I shall," the Dreadlord said, he and the Fel Guards slowly fading out of existence, "just remember: Kil'jaeden does not tolerate failure for long."
- Kil'jaeden. That name Nilon knew. Kil'jaeden was one of the lords of the infamous Burning Legion. Clearly these Crusaders were in league with them to some extent. And if these Crusaders were, then maybe all Crusaders were. Nilon looked over at Valinaria.
- "I know what you're thinking," she said, "but its not true. This is just as much a shock for me as it is you. More of a shock, even."
- "We'll see," Celen said, "until then, we're keeping an eye on you."
- "Come on," Nilon said, "whatever these Crusaders are up to is obviously no good, and I think we need to find out what it is exactly."
- "I fully agree," Scalebender said, his voice sounding too eager. "Let us see just what this 'idol' they speak of is."
- "Don't get too hopeful, Naga," Thrrag growled. "We're not letting you off your leash, especially after that last 'incident' with the Naga."
- "Of course," Scalebender hissed, "I expected nothing less."
- Nilon motioned for them to follow, and they fell into a slow pace behind the Crusaders.

FIRST.
Edit: Ok, after reading it I can say I am disappoint by the lack of Morec in this page. But, also I can say that I am pleased that you have finally managed to add a semi-major lore character. Because we all know you like to avoid doing so.

The thing about Lore characters - and I've stated this before - is that I'm not Blizzard, or one of the amazing writers they hire. But I will say that more lore characters will be featured as this goes on.
As for Morec, he wasn't integral to this part of the plot. But he'll be showing up.
And why is Thrrag still alive? Because I still need him. You'll see.

Writer's Commentary:
- Hmm, what on earth could those Crusader's be up to? Besides no good, that is. And what will happen to Valinaria, now that she has seen the other side of the Crusade?
- And is this the end of Scalebender's quest for the Silzzorthess Idol? Or is there one more obstical to be delt with?
- The next Page is a 2-parter staring Morec. What's it about? >:)
EDIT:
District 9
is a 1337 movie

Here's a sneak preview of Page 30 for you readers.
Morec led the precession through the Western Plaguelands. Arceus' words still rang in his ears, but he tried to ignore them. Whether or not he would make the same choice as Arceus had made no difference to him at the moment. He would complete his current tasks first and wrestle with his conscious later. He had decided that much.
