Strange mouseover macro problem with Wild Growth

What I want is the following:
If I have the mouse over someone then it should cast the heal on that player. If I do not have my mouse over anyone then it should just do a normal cast (with auto self cast turned on in the options), meaning that if I have a target selected the spell should go to that target and if my selected target it either hostile or doesn't exist the spell should simply target me.
So with auto self cast turned on this is working perfectly fine:
/cast Rejuvenation; Rejuvenation
It does everything I want perfectly and it works no matter what I currently have targetted.
Now the strange part: If I do the same thing with Wild growth, meaning
/cast Wild Growth; Wild Growth
it works equally fine as long as I have either a friendly player targetted or any enemy. As soon as I target a dead enemy I get the error message "your target is dead" and the spell doesn't cast. With exactly the same macro this works fine for Rejuvenation without error message (and for any other healing spell I have, too). Wild Growth is the only spell producing that error.
Reading this (

) I found the following solution which should work:
/cast Wild Growth
Sadly it doesn't. If I target a dead enemy on the ground and cast this (no matter where my mouse is! even when hovering over my unit frame) it will just give me "your target is dead" and not cast it on myself. Again, the same thing works perfectly fine with Rejuvenation, just not with Wild Growth.
Any ideas?

I'm using a macro like the following with Grid+Clique:
/cleartarget
/cast Wild Growth
/targetlasttarget
It prevents the weird bugs the hostile target sometimes does. Dunno if it's the best way to do it, but it works for me. Also, I don't have any other options in there, because with grid+clique when I click on a frame I always have a mouseover target.

I think I read not long ago that there is a bug with Wild Growth and dead target. Thought they fixed it, but maybe not.

Add a ; Wild Growth?
/cast Wild Growth(); Wild Growth()
Redundant, the last already takes care of that.

Framing it in /cleartarget and /targetlasttarget is an awesome idea, thanks ;)
