Hey guys, I have a level 49 Dreanei Warrior tank.
He has about
5300 armor, Reduced dmg 54%
bad def, about 240,
but high health, 3300.
Dodge 16%, block and parry 9-10%
I want to buy the skullflame shield, because the procs on it look great for keeping threat, and keeping me alive, currently i have the green tower, and need an upgrade.
The problem is...people keep saying this is a Paladin protection shield. I understand that Paladins are AoE tanks and Warriors are single target tanks, but would this shield not be very useful to me? Please, if you can, suggest another shield to me from lvl 45-58. Price is not a concern so don't try to convince me using a financial argument
Thank you for your help

I wouldn't sink too much cash or put too much effort into finding any upgrade at any rate as you level so fast now that you'll surely replace it soon. Especially once you hit outlands.

Why is that idea out of date? And why wouldn't pally spell power still increase that? It doesn't do that anymore?

The idea is out of date because WotLK made all tanks on par with each other. They didn't want one tanking class to be better at x aspect than the other tanks, and so they fixed that. If anyone says paladins are for multi-target tanking only, tell them they don't have a clue what they're talking about.
As for the shield, it's pretty logical when you think about doesn't it? He stated a fact and you say why? Kind of pointless bro
Tanks are still better at different things, just not to such and extent as they used to be. Paladins are still the best at mitigating damage on AoE pulls, death knights and warriors are best at mitigating magic, etc.
But it's more like flavors of tanks than types of tanks now.

honestly the shield won't be with you long enough to justify going out of your way for it but with that being said i would personally buy it for when i'm a higher level and want to just play around

the proc is the exact same for a pally, warrior and shaman (well they can use shields) since it no longer benefits from spell power so saying it "shines" for a specific class is kindof useless, it'll shine just as much for a warrior aoe tanking 10+
"item with X stat really shines for class A even though B, C, and D classes receive the same exact benefit from X stat"

It is an awesome shield. I still got it in the bank and it was my best buy when leveling as prot. And it looks
badass
.
Its worth it. Every penny.
