It sounds like you might have confused hit rating with AP/SP. . .
I'm not sure about enhance shamans but I know for ele...
Horde Hit Cap (alone): 368
Horde Hit Cap (with a Moonkin or Shadow Priest): 289
Alliance Hit Cap (by itself): 342
Alliance Hit Cap (with a Moonkin or Shadow Priest): 263

For enhancement it's higher
Horde (alone): 446
Horde (w/ Moonkin/spriest): 368
Alliance: 420
Alliance (w/ Boomkin/spriest): 341
Now back the the OP's question...
Hey All;
I have been running some testing with hit rating and am not seeing much difference between 422 and 377.
Have you guys seen hit rating scaling with HIT?
Are you attacking the lvl 80 dummy or the raid boss dummy?

Well, first off, it's not adviseable to stack hit above 368 (horde) because there will pretty much always be a Spriest/Boomkin in the raid. Secondly, 45 hit = 1.72% hit,
so all things working out it should give you ~2% increase of dps.
What were your exact numbers?
Edit: Err, um sorry I started thinking elemental for a second...for enhancement 1.72% hit (above the soft cap) should come out to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1% dps.

That is in no way an exact conversion, just a rough estimate considering after the melee soft cap HR effects only spells and white attacks (not SS, LL, or WF). I got the 1.72% from your 45 hit rating (422 minus 377).
