Need help with n00b hunter

Actually, I am not a n00b to hunter's, but I have not played a n00b hunter since I started my hunter back before WotLK came out. Back then, I was a huntard and had NO idea what I was doing. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know about Talent points till about level 30. Yeah, I was BAD. So anyway, I have made a n00b hunter on my brother-in-laws server (3 of them play there now) and so I rolled hunter since I have never played horde (only alliance).
My question is this.... how should I start my talent tree? Should I just start plugging into BM or maybe start off in MM with points in skills like:
Lethal Shots (5/5)
Mortal Shots (5/5)
Careful Aim (3/3)
Go for the Throat (1/2)
Aimed Shot (1/1)
Then start filling up BM, or Surv (since that is what I roll now, love it!) Any help on the matter is great, since I am not sure the best way to spend these talent points. Honestly, our forum needs some advice for n00bs starting off and showing some talent trees for specific levels, like level 20, 30, etc... I know on the druid forms they have laid it all out. Maybe we do, and I missed it? Anyway, any advice is great.

You need as much parry as you can get for soloing.

What? 9 times out of ten, the mobs never makes it to me, why would I need parry? I am not a melee hunter? If it is sarcasm, forgive my ignorance, since sarcasm doesn't show up through the internet. Else, go post BS elsewhere.

The most common convention for leveling a hunter is to start BM right away so you can get access to the really great talents that make that spec so much fun to play as early as possible. BM is the best spec to roll for solo leveling and it's really hard to spec it wrong, just grab any talent that boosts you or your pets damage. MM and SV become a lot more relevant whenever you hit higher levels and need to churn out the dps in raids or heroic instances as they are heavily gear dependent until you can reach the bottom of the trees. I recommend grabbing a tenacity pet, such as a bear, to tank for you while you level and then switch to a ferocity pet, like a cat, when you don't need a tank and can just concentrate on dps. As soon as you pick up 'Beat Within' you can start throwing points into other trees or buffing up your BM spec. Plus, there's nothing like popping 'Beastial Wrath' on a priest or warlock while they are trying to spam fear...makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

Why wouldn't you want parry? You can counterattack and it gives you some defense if you pull aggro for those few seconds.

Thanks for the comments, I was leaning towards BM, but I was not sure if starting in MM would help burn down mobs faster... been so long since I even played BM (been 80 and surv since late Jan/early Feb). As for talents, I pretty much know what to pick out now... it is going to be pretty standard BM build, correct? And how is boar for starting off tanking pet? I would have to travel to Ashenvale to get a bear at this level... am I mistaken?

You can't really go wrong with any tenacity pet. Check out

to look for a pet in your chosen race's starting zone. Turtle, Crocs, and Gorillas make awesome tanks.

No, see, it was a play on words... I am a hunter who has started a n00b hunter, and since I have not played any other hunter other than my 80 which I started a year ago, I had no idea how to start one off.
Thank you for your good responses all. I have played Survival basically since 80 and love it - I top the damage charts in BG's as well as Deaths (lol). I hardly raid, since I focused this guy so much on PvP. I have been thinking about trying to start raiding and stuff so I have done a few 5man heroics, read up on each dungeon and have tried to get a basic knowledge before trying any new dungeons... if you look him up in armory (Ental, Alexstrasza server:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Alexstrasza&n=Ental
) he is in his current "dungeon" gear. You can also look at achievements and what not, and note that I have done few, if any dungeons... lol. Anyway, thanks for the input all, I appreciate the prompt responses.

Your spec looks good, you must have really done your research. I recommend grinding through some heroics so you can cash in the Emblems of Conquest for some really great SV gear. The loot that drops from heroics can become pretty irrelevant fast with badge loot, so you can relax and know that it doesn't matter if you lose a roll or two. The quicker you can become hit capped through gear, the faster you can maximize your dps by regemming agility from hit. If you get the True Aim Long Rifle from heroic Trial of the Champion, you might want to consider trying a Marksmanship build as it can churn some fantastic dps numbers and has awesome burst abilities. Also, if you plan on doing a lot of PVP, whenever you get some more hit I would definitely pick up Scatter Shot when remove Focused Aim. Currently I'm running two PvE builds as the arena season reset and SV works a lot better for General Vezax hard mode (not so mana intensive as MM). Here's my armory info,

, if you'd like to check out my spec and gear.

The only problem with my hunter is right now my PvP gear gets me to like 230 hit rating (not including the +3% from talent), but when I put on my PvE gear it gets down to 166 (not including +3% talented), so I am stuck with this until I get gear with more +hit on it... I can't wait to get some gear to get rid of +3% talent. Anyways, thanks again for the help with n00b hunter - I got the hunter to lvl 12 last night after a little playing and picked up a boar for pet. So far I can get 4 mobs picked up and burn em all down before either myself or pet dies, not bad IMO.
Here is my n00b:

I think it is up to date now. Thanks again!
