It's probably too early to panic right now. Besides, from the screenshots they showed, the talents that might become Masteries are those like Spell Power, Arcane Instability, and Arcane Mind.
They might still keep those situational boost talents, or they might actually change them to something more interesting. Like instead of 6% more crit to AB, now AB debuff now adds an additional 1% crit per stack.

I'll always remember my first encounter with Stitches in Duskwood. So much so being safer while sticking to the roads. :)

no hit, no SP (replaced with int) is going to change things up a lot. Something tells me they aren't going to completely rework the trees, rather they are going to implement needed things (for hit/sp/int/etc) into the talents already there. Obviously new tiers of each tree is going to be added, but I don't see them changing dramatically*
*this is all just my opinion.

The thing I am truly afraid of is going into patch 4.0.0 with ~2700-3000 sp (based on ICC gear) and coming out on the other side with a massive mana pool and 1700 sp.
I just hope they don't say "1 int = 2 sp" for everyone. It wouldn't make sense to do something like that. Holy paladins would have a crap load of SP, while pretty much everyone else would be lacking in comparison. Just like Int -> crit there needs to be specific class conversions.
i hadn't much thought about this, but you're right. When WotLK launched, i was a lvl 70 mage with somewhere on the horizon of 9-950 spellpower (about 1100ish as arcane IIRC). The day I dinged 80, i had about 1100 spellpower (around 1300 arcane).
i know that's not exactly the point you were trying to make, but it just reminded me of that as well.. and with the conversion of spell power all going into intellect.. well hell, your right.. all healer classes will have more spellpower than DPSers, cause they ALWAYS have more mana than we do. (I ran an ulduar 25 with a priest who had somewhere like 32k mana.. it was unreal) Hopefully they DO have different formulas for converting Int into spell power for each class..
Now that I think about it though, this will make levelling a lot easier.. How much gear do you see before outlands that has spell power on it? Yeah, i mean there is some, but most of it is crafted or picked up in the occasional dungeon.
