The formula is: (amount of "extra" defense skill)*(your max HP)*(0.3 / 140)
i wish to make this formula to a macro but i am clueless to how to make it, so any one here can help me make it to a macro? or even better give me a link to a website or a guide that can teach me how to create those kind of macros?
thank you.

I think maximum is achived at 540 def. So.. You would want to end up around that number anyway.
Don't know macros tho. Ask in the UI/macro forum, the people that read it are usually quick to answer.

Why create a macro when you've already got the formula there?
Defense 'Cap': 540
Base Defense: 400
Amount of heal: 30%
Heal = (Actual Defense - 400) / (540 - 400) * Maximum Health * 0.3
or
Heal = ((Actual Defense - 400)/140) * Max Health * 0.3
Edit: It goes without saying.... well, ok, it needs saying. Actual Defense is capped out at 540 - any extra won't make a difference in this formula.

up to 30% of your maximum health, L2R.
There was a test in 3.2 PTR which shows 602 defense skill -> ~45% HP healed.
I don't know which one to quite follow, I'm going to stick with the player's answer unless someone disproves it.

If it doesn't agree with the tooltip, and it was just on the PTR, it's not accurate.

I find that Blizzard tooltips are often wrongly worded.

I'd settle for things just working like the tool-tip. Been running with a lot of pugs lately, and there's been more than a couple times where AD isn't going off while the healer apparently runs to the kitchen during a raid boss fight and I kneel over.

Really? I can't count the amount of times it has saved my bacon since the change was put into place...
Indeed. Vezax tanking is now DP>Llane+Heart+AD>Repeat.
So great.

Keyword being PTR...
On PTR AD also made paladins impossible (or close to) to kill.
On live, AD still does make paladins impossible (or close to) to kill. So what's the difference?

The AD heal can crit. So assuming that you get 50% crit bonus, 30% * 150% = 45% health.
