Hi everyone. I've been looking over paladin talents and I have to say imp auras in holy is looking good for someone running with warlock/druid on 3v3. Silence/interrupt immunity, and pushback resistance, seems well worth dropping some damage reduction. Couple this with 12% stronger heals, and I think I've found the build that interests me most for pvp (BG's and arena). Tell me what you think!

edited this post to include the build I
actually meant to post and get opinions on :p

....
(I'm assuming you want SotP and unyielding faith, this would be your spec)

well since they took seal of blood/mayter (depending on faction) you kinda need seal of command for your damage now and even now its not that good..
but you also missing swift retabution in the ret spec you will also want vendadiction i suggest u take out the persute of justice talents and put it in that other then that swith the seals of the pure in holy and put them on spirit focus to reduce the pushback on your heals
This is pure fail. /wrists.

Oh dear sorry to everyone that posted. I meant to link a slightly different build. Not quite sure how this wowhead works nowadays, there's no "link to this build button" I see! Sorry.

6% DR > 12% bigger FoLs + aura master
IMO

the DR is nice, but moving over to ret pvp from prot pve, I'm up on damage mitigation atm for my target play area. I'm playing with a couple of mates, aff lock and boomkin, and I can see the silence/interrupt immunity being more useful to us than 6% DR. Can anyone see my point, or am I just plain wrong?

well, you'd have to burn a GCD switching auras, so that's 4 seconds just to get off one un-interrupted Holy Light. IMO, not worth it.

what aura can i not live without in pvp? conc and ret aura don't seem like winners over silence/interrupt immunity imo. Not trying to be sarcastic, I've had this brainwave that aura mastery might work for me, i've been away from the game from about a month on holiday, so I'm grateful for any help :)

Well, when it comes to pvp, it's not about min/maxes like pve is. So there's a lot more room for variation in specs. If this suits your play style take it.
However I think you're underestimating the power of ret aura, especially against fast hitting enemies. And also, I honestly don't think it's in a pally's best interest to be casting holy lights, un-interruptable or not. We're spec'd and geared for dps, spending 2.5 seconds dpsing will is probably a better use of your time. Which is why I stick to my 6% DR, which is completely passive, doesn't take away any dps time.

I see your point. It wasn't at all to do with holy light really, more protecting my teammates' casting abilities as a lock and boomkin. On a sidenote, I've heard a lot of conflicting information regarding seals, is SoC/SoV that much better than SoR? Been using SoC just now in a BG and it didn't feel too powerful at all. I heard some pallies were intending on pvping through the nerf and doing very well, so what are they doing that I'm not (besides the slight spec difference I might change, and gear)?

In general SoV > SoR > SoC, but only if you can stay on top of your target with SoV. If you're having problems getting to 5 stacks and staying there, stick with SoR. Don't be afraid to switch seals on the fly. Being an old-school pally, I'm used to doing that already :P
Edit:
more protecting my teammates' casting abilities as a lock and boomkin.
Generally speaking, dps casters already have the tools to deal with pushback and silences, not that a little more wouldn't help, but pvp is a lot more selfish than pve...you've gotta worry about yourself just as much as your team-mates.

I remember the seal refreshing days! putting a new seal up every time you judged it, these kids don't know how easy they got it now :p Do you know any rough numbers on how different the seals are on damage nowadays?
http://www.overpowerdin.com/retribution/
says SoR is 5% more powerful than SoC, but it don't mention difference in DPS between SoR and SoV.

has a nice layout of the three seals, goes into a lot of detail with SoV. No specific comparisons to SoR however.

tyvm mate :) Tonight has been horrible, unfamiliar pc, no mods, and a nerfed class, getting nowhere! Will just stick to reading until I get home I think.

I always run with kings, comes out to a lot of stam in pvp gear + a decent amount of AP/crit.
