The suggested speculation that in the next expansion, Garrosh is made Warchief and leader of the horde, and then declares Cairne a traitor and kills him, I'm not sure if any of this is even valid, but out of the possibility it is, I can say this.
Garrosh Hellscream, just about everyone hates the guy. The only ones who like him are those hungry for old alliance vs horde rivalry, but NOT in Garrosh himself, he's just a tool for that intended rivalry.
Just the idea put forward is ridiculous in all terms. Thrall knows Garrosh is a bloodthursty bastard, who jumps at the chance to attack anyone not following his point of view of under his command. He knows he would gladly, as Saurfang himself put it, lead the horde back down that dark path is once had done at the time of the rise of the horde. Garrosh is like a little memory of that time in the hordes dark past, and yet the very idea that Garrosh would be given power is beyond rationality.
If Garrosh were to become leader the horde would fall apart. It would lose the support of the Tauren who, for all else, would desire peace above war. It would likely loose the darkspears, as it was Thrall who liberated them, and I can't see Vol'jin standing with a prick like Garrosh unless it was under pain of death. The forsaken and blood elves are of there own choice in the matter and probably would stay if it gave them allies.
As for the rest of the orcs, Garrosh is one who doesn't care for the ways of shamanism, so that part of the horde spiritalality would be gotten ride of. Warlocks would probably again be given a place of higher power, just like the horde under blackhands rule, and eventually, Garrosh would do something as stupid as his father (which looks like he already had done so with Cairne) and breaking the horde apart.
No, I won't stand with it. If Garrosh takes power its over for the horde. Unless theres some huge plot device of Thrall regaining power and we get to kill the little bastard wannabe Grom, I would probably even cancel my subscription and poke two fingers up at blizzard.

I hate Garrosh with everything I've got. He's a bloodthirsty little kid who thinks he will somehow become as great as his frather, Grom Hellscream, and will lead the Horde (Well, not really the Horde. The Orcs) and rule over the other races.
I think Thrall has failed with Garrosh. Thrall should be downranking Garrosh, but instead he grants him more and more power, which is just leading to the downfall of the Horde.
Blizzard
really
needs to bring back the Thrall we all love: The Thrall from Lord of the Clans. The one who slapped the Orc who slaughtered the innocents.
That
is the Thrall that should be leading the Horde, not the current Thrall who gives Garrosh more and more power, or Garrosh who just wants to slaughter everyone who is not an Orc.

Actually those rumour website's said that Thrall is stepping down because he is the new guardian.... /hand jerking motion. I really hate somethingawful.com and mmochampion for using information off of that cesspool.

I agree.
I
will
quit if he becomes Warchief, kills Cairne, and something is not
immediately
done about it.
I can't pledge my loyalty to a Warchief that uses Blackhand/Gul'dan's method of murdering anyone who disagrees, and I will not serve Wrynn either. I've Horde for life, that's who my characters are, and I'm not about to change that.
If I can't go rogue and follow Thrall or try to overthrow Garrosh, I will quit. I will not let myself be forced to choose between Garrosh and Wyrnn. If it comes to that, I will quit.

I, too, refuse to follow Garrosh as well. I'd rather join the Scourge then... well, actually, I'd rather join the Scourge even if Thrall remains Warcheif :)
All serious, though, although it would be an excelent plot twist, having his kill Cairne takes it just a bit too far, I think.

I here that Brother. I'm a member of Thralls Horde, the real horde that beat the burning legion, Illidan, Kael'thas and the scourge under his leadership, the horde that regained its honor and dignity, as well as its spiritality in shamanism under him. There have been mistakes made of course, theres nothing as a perfect, golden leadership, but as far as the horde has had it, Thrall is the greatest they have had... He even outweighs Doomhammer in terms of leading his people, since Doomhammer was still leading a blood crazed driven army to there ultimate end.
And this is the thing with Garrosh in her represents something some clueless fans have about the horde. They keep saying the horde became 'soft' under Thralls rule, because he hadn't driven them in the same situation Doomhammer or Blackhand did. I say thats utter crap. The horde back then were a group of blood mad, lord of the rings rips offs with no substance. They didn't become weak under Thralls rule, they just learned how when to stay there weapon, and when to fight. Saurfang serves as the best example of this.
So if anyone thinks Garrosh taking control of the horde will make them 'strong' by turning them into some mad driven group of zealots, then you should really recheck your lore books and find out what actully happened back then.

I just finished Lord of the Clans, and it was amazing. The way he led the Horde there at Durnholde was the greatest display of honor and justice I've seen yet in Warcraft. Making sure that Blackmoore was punished, but sparing Sergeant, the Foxtons, and even Langston. He kept the Orcs in line, and didn't use more force than was necessary. That is what the Horde represents for me. A people striving to overcome what they have done and come to be known as. Even Garrosh's father, Grom, understood how vile the Old Horde was.
When the Warsong clan abducted a human child and demanded that Thrall execute it, Grom had Thrall's back and ordered the orcs to return it. Would Garrosh have done that? No, of course not. TBC Garrosh would have ignored it and let Thrall fight off the entire clan by himself, and WotLK Garrosh would have killed it without a second thought.
Garrosh represents everything the Horde has been trying to escape since Lord of the Clans, and I don't even approve of the position he's currently in, and I sure as hell won't accept him as my Warchief. If that means my orcs die in a blaze of glory in front of Grommash Hold trying to get to Garrosh, or are killed by assassins as Durotan and Draka were murdered, so be it, but I am not going to be cowed into serving this fool.

And speaking of Saurfang, least not forgetting the promise he made Garrosh in warsong hold, should Garrosh lead the horde down that dark path again, he would kill him himself.
And well Garrosh is the son of grom hellscream.. Saurfang is Saurfang, the brother of Broxigar the red. You don't %^&* this orc off.

Sincerely, this makes no sense ^^.
Way to make a Night Elf mage then, only if the male NEs didn't look so bad...Makes sense to me... Garrosh is all about power, I can see him following a similar path that the old Horde did. He certainly doesn't have a lot of respect for shamanism.
