Hi hope somone can help. I have checked the macros thread and i cant seem to find a macro that lets you cast power word: shield on yourself with one button.
Its a lot of messing about targeting myself with F1 mid-combat and then trying to find the previous enemy target again.
Hope someone can help. ty

/cast Power Word: Shield
Shield yourself if you have no target or a hostile target. If you have a friendly target you will shield the friendly target.

Uh or you could just put on "auto-self cast" and then avoid the above macro.
If you have another player in your party or raid targetted it won't work.

Download
Clique
. With this addon, you can
click on
hover your mouse over
any portrait (including your own) to cast any spell in your book, without switching targets. This would not only solve the problem of needing to bubble yourself quickly and easily, but would also allow you to bubble anyone else in your raid without de-selecting your main healing target.
...to avoid possible confusion over why you'd want this addon. :D

TY to all but i may try the addon once i get my head in to healing. The simplest way for me was the simple click in the ui to cast frindly spells on myself. I stil have muuuch to learn!

I highly recommend just using the ALT key to cast all spells to yourself.
Highly
recommend it.
Especially
if you want to be fast and efficient.
Don't bother PVPing if you aren't going to using a modifier to cast to yourself. And raid bosses with the potential to kill your tank in a single GCD will be hell for you.

is better since you don't lose your target BEFORE your current target. Ctrl/Shift + Tab is useful when I don't feel like clicking when it's especially hectic.

This was the perfect macro for me, thanks.
Using the default self-cast feature doesn't work for those of us who use Alt/Ctrl/Shift for various sets of hotbars. I would never waste my Alt key just for self-casting. The above macro solves the problem much better.

Yes it does. The auto self cast option does the exact same thing as that macro, except for every spell so you don't have to macro all of them. I know there is a drop down to select a self cast button, but that is only for when you do not have auto self cast checked. If you have auto self cast checked, you can set that to none and there wouldn't be a difference.

just keybind this macro to a key you dont use. I tend to replace the keybinding for the record controls (which are , . and /) for self casting.
Bind it to something and use it as often as you can to familiarize yourself with the binding. its simple.
