Just picked up
The Edge of the World
, first book of Terra Incognita, by Kevin J Anderson.
Premise sounds strangely like One Piece...

Right now I'm about 2/3 of the way through the
Way of Kings
by Brandon Sanderson. My theories:
Syl is either the spirit of one of the Radiants, or she's a Dawnsinger.
The things that Shallan are sketching are Voidbringers.
Jasnah realizes the Soulcaster was stolen, but either A. fixed the old one or B. is letting Shallan do what she wants with it before confronting her.
Kaladin can do what Szeth can, and both might be reincarnated Knights Radiant or the new order. Also, Kaladin can see Syl because he is a new Knight Radiant.
If you know otherwise, please don't say anything before I'm done, or at least mark it with spoiler tags so I can check it after I'm done.

"Finished"
The Horus Heresy
just now. Strong candidate to the best series I've ever read. Seriously, they're so damn good. Eagerly awaiting the next book(s), and in the meantime I'll be finishing up Codex Alera and The Dresden Files. Vacation is paradise.

AND I JUST GOT PAID.
Finally, something comes together. "Finished"

How would you recommend
The Flight of the Eisenstein
? I've been considering it for awhile, especially since I rather enjoyed the Blood Angels duology by the same author, even if others seem to have not liked it.
Finished
The Way of Kings
today, and I think it's one of, if not the best, high fantasy book I've ever read. Seriously, Sanderson is a genius.

I don't see why
anyone
wouldn't like it - I think it is excellent, nearly on par with most of the other novels in the series James Swallow might not be the best writer in the lot writing Horus Heresy, but he did the job well.

I was going to use Ghost Story as a light novel to whet my appetite for Atlas Shrugged, but it's not quite that light. I guess that's what happens when the plot has to continue from where it did...

I went to Barnes & Noble today and they were like: "We sold all of our '
Ghost Stories
,' so you're going to have to wait until next week." QQ. I did get it reserved though.
And also, I bought
A Dance of Dragons
while I was over there for $25, so it's all good.

I don't know why people hate reading so much. I just realized that I've read more this summer than my friend has in the past two years.

I've read more this summer than most of my friends have in their lives, assuming we're excluding what you read in school

Heh, yeah, wonder what's going to happen in the next book, and how much of it will actually be set in Chicago this time...since with the second to last chapter, seems like they are saying it's 'all good there' for now....
Also: What the hell is the Parasite that Daemonreach mentioned that was helping to keep Harry alive?

Harry's probably going to find a way to (actually) break/complete his deal with Mab, and given the varied gaps in in-universe time between books, plus the mutability of time in the Nevernever, some new Big Nasty will probably threaten Chicago in a way that threaten's Winter's power.
As for the parasite, it's probably Demonreach's way of describing the living IV setup Harry notices before he noticed Mab. Which is probably its doing, given the fact that Mab chose Demonreach to nurse Harry's corpse.
With a title like Cold Days, the Unseelie Court will obviously play a large role. I'd especially like to see more of the Leanansidhe as a foreground character.

Eh, Lea has been steadily becoming a main character over the course of the last few books, and since Harry has figured out the main source for being the Knight now, could see him interacting with her on common ground from this point on...and all depends if she'll still be playing the role she was playing in Ghost Story.
As for being the Winter Knight; Harry's already figured out how to still be himself while working with the Winter Court: He'll work with Mab and the other Winter Queens, but he'll only do it in his own way, so no rape, drugs or wanton killing unless it's absolutely needed. If Mab or the other Queens try to force him to do otherwise, he'll start being a literal man and only do exactly what they tell him to do and not a thing more, forcing them to baby sit him and make sure he does it all....kinda of like Fix is for the Summer Court.
I really think he'll keep the powers up to the apocalyptic 3 part finale, and we'll get to see one hell of a massive ass kicking from everyone: Both Courts, all three Councils and all the rest. It's just going to be a matter if he can still White/Gray Hat for the Council and serve the Winter Court at the same time.

Maybe Titania will have an actual part in this next one. That could be interesting.
Edit: I'm finding Atlas Shrugged somewhat captivating. Ayn Rand certainly had a way of giving a sense of characters' relationships and mindsets through just their dialogue.
Also, new Nat. Geo. \o/

True, she's just never had much "screen presence." And I do hope to see more of the Brothers Gruff.
