Well - if you have DBM (deadly Boss Mod) there is a "Range" feature with it. It is designed to allow you to know if you are the right distance from other players. there might be a way to tweak it to do soemthing like that.
I am Sure there is one out there, somewhere, I just dont know of anything aside from DBM,

I saw a video on Festergut 25 man HC. A heal druid had it! On the gas spores there were circles around every player with a gas spore. It even shows the countdown of the debuff you have. forgot the video actually. But it exists. o.o Or it did exist! (sorry I've never been to HC that might be a interface from WoW)

It did exist. I don't remember the exact name, but someone had come around some of Blizzards restrictions, about addons may not effect the game world. It was literally a cheater addon, as the addon told you what to do, where to go, and it showed the paths in the actual game world.
And Blizzard cracked down on that HARD with the launch of Cata, iirc. They totally broke the addon, as it took any challenge out of the game.

I believe it was AVR or AVR-E. I'm not sure which but I'm sure a little Google Fu could turn up some interesting reads.
