Morsi was never the right man for the job, certainly. He and his party was too divisive in a country like Egypt which isn't primarily made up of one religious or ethnic group, but he
was
democratically elected in a majority, controversy aside. This is one of the problems of sudden revolutions like this, the initial group are rarely revolutionary or unifying
enough
for the people, and they get deposed. Things tend to radicalise from there, which I really hope won't be the case. Egypt can't just stage a revolution every time the government messes up - it'll run the country into the ground. I think I want to see the Arab League, particularly more stable countries in the area, have some kind of influence over Egypt's future, for the sake of stability. Obviously not selecting the leaders themselves, that would be awful, but as a positive influence and ally for Egypt, which is recovering from a massive upheaval.

Whether the people protested or not, the army overstepped its lawful authority and seized power. It might be temporary power, but they still used force of arms to take control of the government. That is the exact definition of a coup.

Just because
someone
something looks good on paper, doesn't mean they are. (Looking at you,
obama
democracy)
Fixed?
No. Just..no.
As to the ongoing conversation, the army staging a
coup d'etat
is not necessarily a breach of the law of sovereignty. We just have to agree on where the sovereignty emanates from - is it from the people, that is, the nation, or the offices/persons of government?

It's not about how democracy looks, it's how democracy works. If you can legitimately elect someone, and if the army decides they don't like him, they have now shown that they can and will stage a coup. That's how democracy in Egypt works right now, and that
is
going to have far reaching consequences on democracy in Egypt and the rest of the Middle East.
It's more the idea that the Egyptians liked democracy in terms of being able to choose who they would have to lead the country. That's all well and good, but they didn't realise that they had to sign up with him for a full term. Hence, looks good on paper, but works very differently to what they were expecting.

They had one person for decades, I hardly think waiting a few years was the main problem.

The problem is that while women may be lighter than men on average, there are definitely some men who would like to be flight attendants who weigh less than the women who are going to be getting the jobs. It would make more sense to base it off of weight of the person, rather than their gender. Although this would cause issues itself.

Next headline will inevitably be "GoAir stewardesses paid to be anorexic", no doubt.

Where do they get their numbers from?

The source is there: from the
UN.
I'm surprised actually. I thought the UK for example would be much higher than places like Syria. At least it
does
acknowledge how obesity is disproportionately affecting the poor, as well.

Not in the top 25. That matches pretty well with my experiences in Vancouver as well.

That doesn't match my experiences locally and when I was London and Toronto last =P.
