@ DoctorLore - You would think that if they're going to continue going down this path, that they'd internalise the work instead. Of course, people still wouldn't trust anybody in a government agency when lobbyists are around.

It looks like another Republican senatorial prospect needs to take more care when choosing his words.
"I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realise that life is that gift from God. And, I think, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen,"

/facepalm Okay, now they really really need auto gags to shut up the Republicans lol...or hire actors to play them for any speaking situation, the stupidity just keeps getting higher this time around. It's really shaping up that the vote is going to come down to 'who is the least stupid'.

You realize, of course, that Dems say stuff equally as silly. The media does focus on the mis-wording done by R than D. Case in point:

However, many of the D mistakes are not mistakes at all, but their actual platform. Check out this letter from Mrs. Obama defending partial birth abortion:

Yikes.
Lest we forget, Obama's open mic moment about the missle defense system, while speaking to Russia's Medvedev:

Over here in the UK we only tend to get the really idiotic statements made by either side so there the only ones I get to work with. It does appear from this side of the pond that at the moment it is the Republicans that are currently suffering from foot in mouth disease though I don't doubt that both sides are equally bad.

This must've been a while ago, but still, leopards and spots...
Anyone out there still using "tard" as an insult in game? Please don't.
You might be surprised to learn that this was a tweet that she made on Monday night after the third presidential debate!

The media is horribly biased against Republicans. Look at the questions asked of Democrats, and the questions asked of Republicans, by reporters. Look at the way they pounced on Romney after he condenmed Bengazi. They were caught on tape coordinating their questions to be accusational. When Obama was asked about the Bengazi attack, they framed their questions to be accusational against Romney.
It went like this for Romney:
Do you think, in hindsight, it was premature to condemn the president's response to the Bengazi attacks.
It went like this for Obama:
Do you think it was premature for Romney to condemn your response to the Bengazi attacks?
There was no questioning of Obama regarding his response.
Take a look at the second presidential debate. Candy Crowley, from CNN, interjects herself to agree with president Obama, while interrupting Romney, even though she was wrong to do so, and factually wrong. The reporters in the room erupted in applause for Obama at that point.
The media HATES Republicans, with a passion, all except Fox News, which is why Fox News is the target of all the other media outlets. Admittedly, Fox does some stupid stuff, like hate video games, but overall they are hated for their conservative bias. You being "across the pond" only see what this media puts out, which focuses like a hawk on everything any Republican says, and completely ignores all of the idiotic stuff Democrats say.
The problems comes because when a Democrat "slips", they actually MEAN what it is they are saying. When a Republican "slips" it is just a slip.
Example:
The media is making a big deal about this slip made by Richard Mourdock, where he tried to explain that a baby brought on by rape is a gift from God. The liberal media is SLAMMING him for saying it. He didn't mean that RAPE is a gift from God, but that the BABY is a gift from God. So, it was just a slip. CNN has it posted on the front of cnn.com right now, and nbc, and abc. It's a feeding frenzy. I even heard it on liberal radio yesterday, about how Republicans believe rapists come from God.
Now take a look at how the media explained Obama's comment to business owners. Regarding their business, he said that they "didn't build that", and gave credit to government programs, like roads, bridges, teachers, etc. It's revealing to how Obama really thinks. He firmly believes in the power of government, and how much more important that is than business. The media firmly defended him, saying that he was saying that businesses didn't build "roads and bridges", which makes no sense to the point of his speech about business, and in context isn't accurate. After that, it was barely heard of in the media, even though that's truly what Obama believes, at his core values.
Don't listen to the mainstream media. You'll just get pounded with how great Obama is and how Republicans are stupid. Instead, do your own research.

I am not a supporter of either candidate per se. However, the business owners didn't build the bridges, roads, or other infrastructure. The engineers, labourers, hauliers, quarry workers, cleaners, canteen staff, safety inspectors etc. did. The business owner commissioned it, took the credit, then the cash. They gave a disproportionately large amount of that cash to themselves.
You're missing the point. Obama didn't say to businesses "you didn't build roads and bridges". Obama said to businesses "you didn't build your business". Take it from a person now starting his own business, government is a huge hindrance, and very little help. His implication is that businesses owe more in taxes to government, to society, for all they have recieved, when it's the other way around. The media knew that would look bad, so twisted the quote out of context to say that Obama was telling businesses they didn't build roads and bridges, when that doesn't even make sense as to a point that needs to be made. While I agree with rest of the post, this bit makes uneasy. Cause if baby is a gift from God, then God send rapist to that woman in order to deliver his 'gift' (might not, but it can be read and understood as such). I believe tying rape or its outcome to God is asking for bashing, because as soon as you say this is 'gift of God' everything that led to 'gifiting' can also be attributed to God. If I was devout Christian I would be slamming this guy too, simply because he believes that our God would pick such a cruel manner for delivery of his 'gift'.
I don't pretend to know what God's actions and intentions are, beyond what He said they are, in the Bible. I take issue with people who liberally interpret the will of God into everyday life. However, babies are gifts, as the Bible says that everything we have is a gift. All babies are gifts. If a baby comes from a rape, it doesn't cease to be a gift. It's a human being. A precious life. There's the problem right there Boronidze. The Allfather (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, take your pick), is infallible, omnipotent, omniscient. We just have to shrug our shoulders and say "so be it oh wise one in the sky".
Rape is rape is rape. A child conceived of rape might be a gift, but equally could be a curse, both on the mother and the child, for the rest of both their lives.
If that is the mysterious way in which God works in order to bestow his gifts, I refuse to respect him. Makes more sense to me that all we have is
US
. That's not a cop out. It's an affirmation of something genuinely powerful. And more difficult.
How is a child from rape a curse on itself for the rest of its life?
