Well I don't know how frost is looking for aoe in the patch, but as of right now I don't have any problems with it, so here's to hoping.
I've been playing with the talent calculator a bit tonight and this is the blood spec I came up with
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#jcEGoI0IobofssxhxZ0gh:GLpmMV
.
So ques...how much of my threat is generated from deathcoil. Are the free ones combined with the 30% dmg increase from glyph's/ talent points, better then the glyph of rune strike and 3% increase in strength ( I have my tier 8, 2 set bonus,

( for runestrike).

I've got two tanking specs on my DK (you can check my armory page for them if you wish), one blood for single target fights, or times where we're trying to gimmick a boss fight. Last week, we did 4 horsemen with 2 healers, and me on my own with Baron. Let's just say people were disgusted by the fact that I never dropped below 50% health. I know Blood isn't meant for "self-healing", but by god is it a nice side effect. My blood spec is usually what I run around with when I'm questing or farming (On a Pale Horse, and with VB+DS, ganking is a thing of the past).
My frost spec is usually what I'll use when tanking. I've actually found that I can put out just as much single target threat with Frost as I can with Blood. That's likely to change after patch with the nerf to Frost Strike, but we'll see. I'm using the Rogue Power Bars addon (strange, I know) to keep track of all the different buffs/debuffs that are going on. This way I can maximize the time spent hitting with OB while I've still got the Rime proc. I'll try to get a screenshot of my tanking UI either tonight or tomorrow. Frost also gives me a much easier time getting snap aggro on some newly spawned add (Noth's skeletons, Ignis constructs, etc) or something runaway than I do with Blood.
Dual tank setups are fun. The snap AoE threat from frost is unmatched in any build, and the "perks" of Blood have made it possible for me to do just about every quest in Icecrown solo (including all of the 5-mans).

Maybe your just not comfortable with it yet.
I originally started out as frost and was pretty comfortable with it. I ended up taking a break from my dk for awhile then came back and tried unholy cause it occurred during one of the few talent point resets. I ended up becoming really comfortable with unholy, and when i tried to go back to frost again it felt kinda strange; i felt like i had threat issues that i didn't have normally. I'm sure if i gave it more time i might have stuck with frost again, but i ended up going back to unholy.

i have blood for MT and frost with acclimation for OT duty. There is a lot of damage that can be resisted in ulduar. its pretty useful.

My experience has been that as long as you're running with a group that's roughly equally geared as you, single target threat won't be an issue regardless of which talent tree you pick (assuming you've done each tree properly). Pick up the base 5/5/5 (or 5/8/5 if you prefer), fill out the primary tree, and then pick up the talents from the other trees that benefit you the most. Play with it, become familiar with it, and you'll never have issues again.
I haven't run as Unholy (DPS or tanking) for a while now, but I can say that in my frost spec, if I start a pull with DnD-HB-BB-BB, nothing comes off me. (unless there's a pally tank in Naxx... *grrrr*)
Screenshot will likely come tonight. Naxx25 is on tonight (even though I don't need much gear), so we'll see how things go. =)
