Immolate, uptime vs. last tick

It occured to me while playing the other that i often clip the last tick of immolate in favor for keeping 100% uptime for incinerate and chaos bolt boost.
That i rather clip it to make sure that last incinerate (before immolate runs out) hits with immolate on the target.
My question is, would it be better to let immolate do that last tick even though it means that maybe my incinerate/chaos bolt would hit the target without immolate?
This is for the cookie cutter destro specs, obviously.

Your better safe than sorry.
EDIT: in other words just do what your doing because you know your immolate is up all the time and clipping the spell slightly won't drastically effect your potential damage. Infact you won't even notice the difference it's that small.

no no NO!
no clipping. bad, naughty warlocks!
we've got these lovely DoTs with their highest DPET of any spells in the game and you want to waste all their potential. you're crazy.
as ent says, you can cast early - if you use the addon buttontimers (others have similar features i'm sure) the bar turns red when you should start recasting - BUT you should be standing far enough from the boss that even if immo completely drops and you cast an incinerate, your immo should cast in less time than the flight time of the nuke.
just imagine you're practising for SF weaving and spam your immo button towards the end of your nuke cast ^_^

the immo bonus to incin and the FnB bonus to incin and CB are calculated at cast not on impact.
the only time this is a decision to make is when immo has more than 1.5 seconds left and less than 2 seconds (with no haste).
the question comes down to which is greater the bonus to incinerate or the immo tick?
the answer is the immo tick. (except for incin crits)
if you can't recast immo yet (more than 1.5 seconds) just cast another nuke.

Always thought that it was on impact.

Do what I do, have a mod that shows your debuffs, and has a timer, when it reaches like .9 seconds left, I start casting my immolate, the milisecond it drops, another lands, then I go back to my usual rotation.
It's rather easy if you're good at watching a number and pressing a button.

hehe, i suppose it's like the in-game convention that any name you choose will eventually get reduced down to three letters... so don't call your character "assassin" ^_^

Get someone to stand next to you and when immolate is about to run out tell him/her to ring a little bell.
It worked wonders for me.
(Homeless people (preferably one that can read) are the best for this just lure them inside with a bacon butty)
