Vezax w/o a DK Tank?

My guild and I have mostly been able to down Vezax no problem with a DK tank, but now that our DK tank is on vacation, what are some ways that we could down Vezax with tanks other than a Death Knight? (specifically with a warrior)
Most strategies I've read recommend using a DK tank because of the one minute CD Ice Bound Fortitude that they can use to cancel out Surge of Darkness (those OP bastards).
No other tank has anything like this (as far as i know), so are you forced to kite him if you don't have a DK to tank? And if so, what are some working strategies in which the tank kites Vezax during Surge?
Your help would be much appreciated

I've never done Vezax with a DK. You just need a little coordination.
I don't know about Druids and Warriors, but Paladins have a -50% damage for 12 seconds, on 2 minutes cooldown. Which means a paladin can get every 2nd Surge of Darkness. You just need something to counter the other Surges - Pain Suppression, Guardian Spirit, even Hand of Sacrifice+Divine Shield from a DPS works partially.

Or you could do it like the fight was intended, and how we did it the first three weeks clearing Ulduar, and kite him.
But yeah, like they said, you can Shield Wall the first, and use another Cooldown of some sort for the second and third one.

You see him casting, you start running. And that's it. We've had far more wipes on him due to the tank trying to man it through the surge than any other reason.
Make sure that someone else is still handling the interrupts tho.

If the intended method was to kite General Vezax, then I'm sure he would be hitting a lot harder in this phase.
He does double damage and he gets a movement speed debuff. What exactly do you think is
intended
with that. The fact that tanks have to burn cooldowns in order to survive is a pretty strong indication of how they thought the fight would work. Just because we can rotate cooldowns and get away with tanking in place doesn't mean that Blizzard didn't intend for the tank to kite Vezax during that phase.
There'd be no reason to for a movement speed debuff is some sort of movement wasn't intended.
And on hard mode, when mana is at a premium, it's probably a good idea for the tank not to take any damage during that phase, rather than just eating it.

I'm a Druid. I tank this. I've had absolutely ZERO problems. Even when learning the fight. There are times when I dodge every hit in a surge of darkness, and if I get unlucky (which is of course possible) Then there's Barksking, Survival Instincts, and Frenzied Regeneration.
Just because druid's don't get a shield wall ability doesn't mean they can't take the hits. We have massive health pools and with a ton of armor, and roughly 50% dodge when DMC:G and Mongoose procs, I'd say my mitigation is working just fine...
People asked about cooldowns and I responded, "Cooldowns? We don't need no stinking cooldowns!"
No but seriously... 50% dodge + 45k hp > Surge of Darkness.
My tanking gear:

My druid tanks him on 10m. Never tried 25m
I used Last Stand/Barkskin/Raid CD's on the 1st one. 2 dodge trinkets/barkskin on the 2nd, BarkSkin/Raid CD's on the 3rd. etc.
With two dodge trinkets im over 60% dodge. Every enrage thing, I dodge every hit...

Tanked him on Monday.
First surge: Holy-paladin bubbles and blessing of sacrifices me. I pop barkskin and my dodge-trinket.
Second surge: Retri-paladin bubbles and blessing of sacrifices me. I pop barkskin and my dodge-trinket.
Third surge: I pop barkskin and my dodge-trinket, along with "Last Stand" and Ferocious Regeneration.
And back to "first" for the fourth.
