Well it depends. Does the Hyena effect stack with freezing trap or wing clip?
If not, then probably not worth it, although is a potential good CC for your partner(s).
Plus the short cooldown is nice.
But does the Hyena require melee range? If so, I'd probably take the Spider, because I believe the web is 25 yards.
Plus, if you REALLY train 1 guy, those are 4 extra seconds of pwnage.

depends on pvp type. Arena would definitely favor the spider due to the range and the impact 4 secs can have on the match. Hyena would be better for bgs with the endless flow of foes. I personally favor hyenas due to me being MM and having to press 1 less button is great as i kite dance due to lack of wryven cc. Crabs fall in btwn the two, but I feel, weaker than both due to non ferocity.
All 3 are viable and you may also want to consider bats, stun > snare; or birds of prey for disarm, good way to marshmellow a ret or rogue.

I like my bat, it synergies well with my group which doesn't have too many stuns (just 1, once a minute as well). I'd say Buttery has a pretty good break down of spiders vs. hyenas, though. Besides, I've grown attached to Chiroptera - I tamed him at 61 in ZG, back when all flying pets had screech, and it was AoE threat. I still love Chiroptera now.
Here's an idea: if you got the stable slots and are willing to dedicate multiple to PvP, go ahead and get multiple pets. Then, later on, if you decide to free up some stable slots, you can determine from your own experience which worked better.
