Hi,
I know that I have read this somewhere on elitistjerks or tankspot, but I can't seem to find it anymore. It said that at a certain amount of AP, crit becomes more valuable than STR. Does anyone know the numbers?
Currently, I am sitting at 4650 AP unbuffed and only at something like 33.7% crit. I don't have much choice gear wise in terms of swapping out items, so the only thing that I could do atm would be to gem for it. I still do nice DPS, I just remember sitting at almost 40% crit unbuffed thanks to stuff like mirror of truth, etc. so I'm almosting thinking that I could use a bit more... (and all the Ulduar gear that drops when I'm there has even less crit... )
What ratio do you guys have on average?

4650 ap unbuffed? It's time to switch to armor penetration.
According to
http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f177/48619-quick-n-dirty-arms-guide.html
as long as you have at least 35% raid buffed crit, you're fine with it and can focus on either AP (but you already have tons of it) or ArP. You should have switched at 3.2k-3.5k AP.

The point where 1ArP becomes better then 16strengtgh is simply when you have 30ArP BY GEAR ONLY. Has nothing to do with crit/AP

Thx for the replies...
Well, that is an arms guide - I usually play fury, so some of the advice might be a bit off for me.

(and the previous editions etc.) is the one that I always looked up when I needed numbers... I could SWEAR that I saw something there along the lines of "At x amount of AP, crit becomes more valuable than STR point for point", but I can't remember where, or even if it was a credible source.
At that AP level (raidbuffed), crits do massive damage, and I really am wondering if my overall dps would be better if I got some more crit (gems or whatever).
ArP wise, I only have around 12-14% unbuffed. It isn't much, but most of the drops I get that have it have +hit as well, and I have more than enough of that. It is quite common that people falsely gear up soley based on iLvl and end up gimping their dps by running around with the wrong stats..

Using ArP pants from Nax25 when I have the t8 pants in bank.
