I am a lvl 80 mage frostfire bolt @tm i need some better tree for ffb and rotaion, any tips?

first off, your glyphs should be molten armor and living bomb.. if you're gonna replace one with living scorch, frostfire is the one to replace.
your talent tree is 100% correct, so the problem must be with your gear.. A link to your armory would work wonders.

Would the amount of spirit you have dictate which glyph you should remove? Since if you have a low amount of spirit wouldn't it make the glyph of FFB more worth it over the MA one?
to an extent, yes it would. I actually found out recently that if your gear is below around naxx10 level, you really SHOULD run with the frostfire glyph.. But if his gear is below that level, he shouldn't be in ulduar.. Perhaps i'm taking that for granted.. If all else fails, however, you should plug yourself into rawr and see which is more dps for you, and take into account things like BoK, GotW, and Prayer of Spirit... ALL of which will raise your spirit thus increasing your crit more significantly with MA glyph.

Ok ooblindogata, I can try to help you out.
I've been playing my mage for quite a while now (I've been level 80 for over 7 months now). I've played Frost spec, Frostfire spec, Arcane and now I'm going with FB/TTW spec. Some advice I can give you would be:
Yes, Spirit is now important for mages with the Molten Armor and Molten Armor Glyph chances. It is not as important as Spellpwer, Hit, haste and crit, but you should try to stack it. A number around 700 is awsome.
With some decent gear you can easily pull 4k plus with this spec, depending on the fight (Ignis, for example, is a terrible fight for casters, given his Flame Jet abilities. Holdir, on the other hand, rocks for casters). I agree with Achloryn, the spec is not the problem, probably your gear is.
Your mandatory glyphs should be: Molten Armor and Living Bomb. IF you have a warlock in your group with Improved Shadowbolt, you can drop the Scorch glyph, and not cast the spell at all. Actually, the Scorch refresh will make your dps go down, so either stop using it, or get used to it. I'd go with Molten Armor, Living Bomb and Frostfire Glyphs for the spec you have.
What is your Spellpower? And haste and crit ratings? For Ulduar, I'd suggest at least 1900s SP (
at least
), 350 haste and fire crit of at least 35%, unbuffed.

Not for me, it ain't! Last run I topped DPS on nearly 5k as Arcane. Flame Jets' the perfect opportunity to pop a Flame Ward and rock out with a souped-up
Incanter's Absorption
. The extra mana back from time to time with
Frost Warding
is also a godsend. >:)
i've heard about a lot of people using this modified spec.. do you have any dps issues (or mana issues since you don't have student of the mind) in the fights that don't take advantage of incanter's absorption/frost warding?

1st off, for an FFB spec, you shouldnt need to put points into flame throwing, since it clearly states "
Increases range of all fire spells EXCEPT Frostfire bolt by 3/6 yards.
Not true.
FFB is the longest spell a FFB mage uses but not the only one.
When he needs to scorch or needs to cast LB/instant pyro he needs to stand closer. Increasing that range makes you stand further which is good and thus making flame throwing a viable talent for a FFB mage.
QFT.. Frostfire bolt is 40 yards.. Scorch/fireball/pyro/living bomb and etc untalented are 30 yards.. that's quite a gap.
i'll take the 2/2 flame throwing thanks. Besides, what would you rather put the points in for the ffb spec?
