Looking for the optimal enhancement spec @ level 68. I just reset my talents, about to head out to Northrend so I'm wondering whats the best setup talent wise.
I don't know shamans in and out so I'm not aware of which talents "look" good but in reality are a waste. I dont know the "stay away from" talents lol. I read stickies but they only get you so far. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

This
is what I would do. Strictly a leveling build. I like to PvP a bit as I level, so personally I would probably pick up 2/2
frozen power
and 2/2
earthen power
. But for leveling, I can't imagine you could go very wrong with this.
And I'm not sure if you drop totems when you solo, but SoE, WF, Searing, and Healing Stream are probably your best options. I'n addition, if you pick up frozen power, I would use WF/Fb rather than WF/WF or WF/Ft. This will result in maximum WF damage when it does proc, with the boosted shock damage from Fb.
Just my 2c.
Good Luck!

I never really dropped non-fire totems while leveling, in most situations (non-aoe or elite) they are a waste of mana. Unless you've got almost infinite mana...
Run with this build, I think:

If you like static shock, feel free to max it out. If you don't like it and want to wait till 75-80 to get it, dump the points in Improved Shields or WF totem.
At 80 for quest farming I would (and do) run with this:

And Frozen Power might be ideal for questing. Never used it, so I can't tell.

Agreed. But, for example, in Lost Rigger Cove in Tanaris, where you have to get 20 southsea pirate hats, and kill 10 each of 4 different types of pirates, it is worthwhile (if there aren't too many ppl of the opposite faction hanging around) to set up your toems in the center of the area and pull the mobs to you. WF totem, SoE totem, and Healing Stream totem will make a big difference over the course of 5 minutes of continuous pulls. But that is a rare occasion.
And Frozen Power might be ideal for questing. Never used it, so I can't tell.
It's useful for stopping runners, but mostly used in world PvP. It is nice to have, though.
EDIT: typos

I realize that you won't be dropping totems all that often (after a while, I barely even dropped fire totems while I was leveling) but I chose to go into Enhancing Totems, as I didn't find 5/5 Ancestral Knowledge all that useful and the boost to SoE totem, even if situational, is nice. I also put one extra point in Enh after 60 just to finish off Static Shock; otherwise, the spec I would advise looks very similar to what others have suggested. This is what I had when I got to Northrend:

This is the also the spec I'd use, except I'd probably shift the points in ghost wolf over to improved shields. (To me) imp ghost wolf only really comes in handy in pvp.

/agree
But...I get into a lot of world PvP, personally. Thats why I like it.

Improved Ghost Wolf is winner for closely placed outdoor mob grinding. Kill, pop GW, run to next mob, kill, repeat. You get to go at 40% extra speed and lose nothing since you're too close to mount up.
