I am having some trouble holding aggro in 25 man Ulduar on certain fights. Most of the time its a warlock or hunter that pulls off of me, however there has to be something wrong with my gear/ rotation. (Mangle when it's up and lacerate to 5..spam maul and keep lacerate up)
On fights like General, where taunt is useless, the raid needs constant misdirects to keep my threat above everyone else in shadow crashes.
Is anyone else encoutering the same issue and are there certain stats that are more important than others for threat generation.
I would link my armory, however im in pvp gear. What I can say is im 3 piece T-8 and I am using
Twisted Visage
. My hit is around 210 and im well over the expertise cap.

General Vezax is a particularly difficult fight because his aura of -20% melee attack speed. Basically you are generating much less TPS because you auto attack and Maul 20% slower than normal.
Other than that, don't worry about those classes pulling aggro. You are doing fine. Avoiding as many misses / dodges / parries as possible via hit & expertise is the key. What do you mean you are way over the expertise cap? If you mean over 6.5%, you SHOULD be. You should be over 10% expertise (40 expertise skill) in fact.
Those classes have aggro dump abilities. If they keep pulling aggro (even though they are ranged), there's something wrong with them being too trigger happy. Also, once you are up to 5 Lacerate stacks, try and use Swipe 2-3 times before refreshing Lacerate again.

Squeeze in a FFF before the swipes if it is up as it does more TPS and DPS then swipe on a single target.

Side question, if you're raiding with an IFF moonkin, will you even be 'allowed' to cast FFF? And if so, do you cancel his effect?
Edit: After some research (I'm not sure if this is still valid), a FFF can't overwrite an IFF ("A more powerful buff exists..."), but a shadow priests Misery WILL overwrite IFF, and then IFF can't be applied over Misery (Which seems odd since FF's main effect is armor reduction). In this case, a Feral could apply a FFF and then the boomkin would get +3% crit off of the Feral's FFF. But if you have a boomkin and no Spriest, there's no way to get the +3% hit AND allow the feral to spam FFF.
Seems quite odd.

Fairie fire feral every cooldown if it will not affect maul, mangle or make lacerate drop off.
They split its effect so it is spammable for threat without overriding IFF from Moonkins.
Otherwise, use berserk often and with heroism, think about getting Hysteria from blood DK's, re-gem/re-gear more agility, or even consider changing your spec for KotJ or other threat boosts.
Are you using polar pieces? If so, swith to something with some more offensive power

The multipresence of those debuffs has been pretty wishy-washy. However, I'd assume that the ultimately desired behavior would be for the druid's FFF (Bear) to apply the damage if not the debuff at the very least. I know for a while I was overwriting our moonkin's FF, but that was hotfixed. I can't speak to the SP point as I don't tank as much as I DPS and I just hit FFF mindlessly on free GCDs when I'm DPSing out of habit.

So what I am gathering is.....more swipe...less mangle. Is anyone stacking +crit for TPS and SD?
I gemmed mainly for stamina and dodge.

It's funny, I've been battling the same issue over the past couple of weeks. I thought it was my rotation, perhaps my gear (there does seem to be a serious lack of pure dr00d tanking gear until you hit 25-mans), but then I began watching my Omen meter VERY carefully. It wasn't me.
I do as you all recommend: throw a FFF, mangle/lacerate/maul primary mob, swipe to aggro the rest, stack lacerates, etc. But it is mages and hunters that seem to pull mobs off usually because they aren't following the kill order or because they insist on unleashing an alpha strike on the pull. You are second-guessing yourself because of irresponsible dps; don't. I'm sure you are doing just fine.
Good luck and happy hunting.

He is in high level druid tanking: He has twisted visage(25 XT) and 3 t8, and is working on Vezax. If a paticular boss fight is causing noticeable threat issues, its not a single 'alpha strike' issue.
I also find other tanking classes pulling ahead of me in threat, despite the fact that I'm stacking a lot of Agi in my opinion.

Its not clear from this if you are using Maul enough... it works independently to GCD, so while you are building up lacerate and mangle, you can be mauling constantly, provided you have the rage.
And as people say, you can fit a few swipes in and refresh lacerate and mangle later.
Sorry if this is all old news to you.
The other thing I would say, is its your DPSes job to keep their aggro below yours. You create as much as you can, and regardless of that, they have to keep below it. If they pull aggro, its them screwing up, not you.
What on earth is your hunter doing using MD to control his aggro? MD is for CC and transferring mobs, it does very little in aggro reduction. Tell him to feign when hes high on Omen, and WAIT until his aggro wipes before be gets up again.

It's funny because I've only seen General being tanked by a druid or DK because of their HP.
This entire concept just seems foreign. I never had threat issus in BC and to be honest the rotation has not change. Im glad and sadend that other druid are having the same issue. This sounds like a mechanic that needs to be changed by blizzard.
Thank you for all of your pointers and experience.
