You need to have a good anti-virus program that is always updated and make sure you have all the Windows updates installed.
Firefox has plenty of security flaws as well. Running Firefox with NoScript and AdBlocker is definitely a good place to start.

This is where you gave your password to the person that cleaned out your account..
I click that link and I can't change my password back to what it was, because it tells me I am not logging in with the correct account name because it has been merged with a battle.net account. So i'm sitting here scratching my head going "WTF!"
the "fake" page took your username and password and fed you a standard error page. while at the same time gave your login/pass details to the "bad guys", who then proceeded to change your email notification address and password. they then stripped all your characters and sold off all the items for gold to sell onto other people. (the battle.net merge email was also a fake to support the error message you received on their "phishing" site that you entered the details into)
TIP:
====
Blizzard will never ask you to change your password in this manner, nor will they ask you for it (why would they need to, they could just look it up in the database). If you suspect that you account is locked (ie you get a suspect email) logon to the website normally, don't click any links in the suspect email, and then check it that way, or call the blizzard support lines
BTW - the email below that one needs your attention as well. because some poor Nigerian widow needs help getting her deceased husbands $100,000,000 out of the country. :P
^This.^ All of it. Plus, remember the Golden Rule:
My account name and password should only be entered on the game's log-in screen and on the official site. There are no other cases in which I am to consider entering this information anywhere else.

You might want to check out the
Account Compromise Info Center
on the official forums if you haven't already. It should tell you everything you need to do to recover the account and what to expect from the process.
And to add to the above post, the credit card information should be safe still. There's no way to pull the entire number out of your account information. The only thing the person will be able to see are the last four numbers.
