I started a mage a few days ago and I've never played the class be4, I know the class relies on having a lot Intellect(mana) and Spirit(Mana regen.). After I've played 2 days now, I'e gotten to level 25.
Here is my Mage
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Terokkar&n=FirenovaI wish for help so I can advance quick, I'm currently going for Frost AoE talents.
Atm I make my money by asking ppl to boost me through stocks for 5g/run then I sell all Wool Cloth stacks I get(usually 3 per run) for 2g each, so I get profit, I've done this for about 35 runs and I've gotten +200g profit.

I'm sorry but I don't see any question asked. :P
I'm no Frost talent expert, not even a hard core mage expert, but I think spending 3 points in Ice Floes is a total waste at your lvl. (I guess you were thinking of reducing cooldown for Frost Nova so that you can freeze mobs easier but that's what Frostbite is for. And you didn't put point on Ice Veins)
I would think this
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#oZZAc0bc:k as a more Frost AoE lvling talent.
Side note: Intellect and Spirit are fine, but I would not neglect Spell Power gear.
Also, I wouldn't recommend on lvling all through instance running. It's the lvling itself - soloing, questing, instancing with a proper group, that teaches you how to be a good mage. I see lots and lots of people from different class who doesn't know proper spell rotation and proper gear itemization in my server.
My main is a holy/ret paladin. I have Fire mage, Arms warr, Combat rogue, Demonology lock, Frost tank DK as an alt. And my control, knowledge with those characters, specs are fairly good if i say so myself, because I lvled them myself, learning spells and rotation on the process.
PS: sorry for not linking spells. I am not using my computer right now. I don't know why but wowhead link util doesn't work on this computer.
I'm lvling to 30-40 through instances because I heard mages get good at then, so I think It's better to learn then
