In the 3.1 DPS guide under Arms it said to use Slam for PvE.
Is it good for PvP too?

I personaly use a PvE armsbuilt in arena, slam is godlike versus things like holy paladins, resto shamans and boomkins. It greatly uppers the pressure on the healer.
On melee, restodruids, mages etc. its useles though.

Its not used often by Arms PvP Warriors due to the cast time regardless of talented or not. There are better talents in the Arms tree to take advantage of anyway.
Slam I would assume is used more so in Fury PvP builds thanks to
Bloodsurge
.
I wouldn't recommend using Slam in PvP as Arms Spec. But I use it now and then say after an Intercept or when the target is stunned / rooted, then I know for sure that the Slam will succeed.
I haven't really tried to PvP with Slam talented as Arms - it could work, try it for fun!

That's the problem with Slam, the stand-still cast time. It should work like grenades where you can run and cast.
