Ok, I know devastate applies a stack of sunder. I also know that devastate adds threat every time it's used as it does damage as well. However, when looking at devastate and the actual sunder ability it makes me question the glyph of sunder for AoE tanking even more. I just want to be able to present facts when i bring it up with my guild.
If I had Glyph of Sunder on, And I'm tanking two mobs. Spamming thunderclap and shockwave on cooldown, devastate will apply a sunder armor the first 5 swings on both targets. After that, devastate continues to produce threat on the main target via the damage and refreshes the sunder.
My question is, after both targets has 5 stacks of sunder armor up, will glyph of sunder continue to product threat on the second target when it refreshes sunder? or will it just refresh the debuff and my threat rely on thunderclap and shockwave from that point on?
I haven't done much testing, since I don't know how you would test threat mechanics in-game with a dummy or something. But I wasn't sure if sunder armor produced any threat at all after the 5 stacks are up?

Refreshing the sunder armor stack has always counted as applying another sunder when determining threat. So I don't see why that wouldn't apply here.
