I was just reading up on Troggs when I went to the
Salamander
page on WoWWiki and noticed something
there
:
The apparent tie that salamanders have to elemental fire lends credence to the tales that there exist "kodo lizards" with supernatural powers tied to elemental storms. Some scholars claim instead that their fiery breath betrays an unholy link to the Burning Legion.
Yet other tales claim that salamanders are the offspring of a kodo beast and the legendary Red Dragon Alexstrasza.
Anybody else kind of creeped out that
Alexstrasza
had kids with a
Kodo
? =O
Sorry, I just
had
to post this...

No different then son of Cenarius having a kid with princess slug for a butt in maradaun, then having the centaur race and telling them to kill daddy.

so what? Ysera banged a stag (malorne), and had cenarius, who then banged a fat princess to give birth to centaur.
Dragons are not married, they have consorts, who assist their dragon king/queen to mate, so that they can breed a new clutch of eggs, however, while the consorts own absolute loyalty to their king/queen, the aspects own no loyalty to anyone, and thus can mate with anyone or anything they wish to.
just like the lions, do take in consideration that diferent species=diferent cultures.
ours is on marriage and monogamy, but that does not means everything that lives follows the same rule.
(cough cough, an ant queen can mate with up to half a billion drone ants during the course of her life, OMG O_O)

As far as I know, Cenarius is son of Elune.Ysera merely took him in.
About the topic.... thats a good part of lore that could be forgotten.
Actually, Cenarius is the son of Ysera and Malorne ( the stag she banged ). Read the The Sundering, book 3 of The War of the Ancients trilogy and it explains all that.Richard Knaak wrote those books, and had this to say in his interview with Blizzplanet:
Elune birthed Cenarius, but gave him up to Malorne because Cenarius was more a creature of the mortal world and could not be with her. Malorne, who had relations with both Elune and Ysera, knew that he could not properly care for his son, but Ysera's love was so great for Malorne that she took Cenarius as her own. Hence being his mother (or adoptive mother).

That would explain why he looks like a Nightelf and a stag combined, instead of a dragonstag. :P

ysera is speculated to be the one responsible of elune, that Elune is an image from the dream ysera sends. But it is just speculations, the most likely is that Elune is some sort of god who was created as a Bi-effect then the titans made the world of azeroth.

Malorne is some relation to Ysera, when he was killed against Archimonde during the War of Ancients, she went apes**t and wiped out a huge group of the Legion. But here, this should help the whole Malorne/Ysera/Ellune love triangle,
