Tuten'kash spawns after hitting the "Gong" a 3rd time. Upon hitting the "Gong" the first time 10 x level 35 undead spiders will spawn, after killing these spiders you will be able to hit the "Gong" again. When hitting the "Gong" for the second time 4 x level 37 elite undead spiders will spawn. You must kill these 4 elite spiders before being able to hit the "Gong" a final 3rd time.

I would recommend clearing the room that the "Gong" is located in before beginning this event.

first ring gets you a horde of non-elite spiders. 2nd shot gives you a few elite spiders to deal with. 3rd summons tutenkash

best done with a 4-5 man group lvls 36-40, a mage would really help to kill the trillion non elite spider rush

The boss is way easier than the first set of spiders that come out to get you.

Easy to do with a 3 man group with a
41 rogue, 45 warrior and 41 priest

The cape droped twice and the gloves once. Havent seen the plate. Will have to keep running it again to get the plate the warrior.

We, 36 warrior, 36 druid, and 34 shaman three manned him and all the way up to him. The first wave of spiders is the hardest, as we had no real AOE.

ive killed him tons of times and he only drops the cape and one other thing which is random but hasnt yet dropped the Carapace for me. Im a lvl 42 warrior and this is BS

When you come inside the room with a big gong, bang the gong 3 - 4 times. Its as simple as that.

P.S. If not working try spam the gong. worked out for me :)

I solo RFD for shards banged the gong and a wave of spiders. Cant bang the gong again? Do u have to do it multiple times before the spiders?

i love doing this part of the instance, especially the massive mini spider rush. just very fun for some reason :).

I love this instance because of all the plate armor I can get for free. (42 Warrior). I got the helmet, bracers, and I got the excaliboar from the rare spawn...but I have yet to get this armor piece after about 12 runs :(

Farmed this guy for fun for free NR gear on my 60 rogue. Got "of the tiger" on my second run. I would prefer "of the bear" but I can't complain. 1% drop rate gg.

Ok. I have noticed some people are dumb. so i will post this
The drop rates are not what blizzard told them. the drop rates occur to their personal expeirence, therefor the more times looted it will change to be more accurate. and now for my personal expeirence

Cloack. in my experince drop rate inaccurate but... after a few runs it might come a few trys in a row. just keep plowing for that item
What does NR mean? 39 preist who has very little interest in leather or mail

lol went in there with two 60's (both my guild mates) and first time we did the whole instance cause i was hoping for the gloves and coldrage dagger (only 37 atm dwarf rogue btw) anyhow first kill we got the carapace and i won off greed (no dagger at end :( ) ask if we could do it again just up to him and guess what got the mofo gloves with enchant of the monkey HELL YES!

Becasue the event of dropping the gloves are all independent you cannot add their drop rates together and justify that theres a 50% chance the glvoes will drop. If I had to guess without doing the math I would say you got a truly 1/5 (20%) shot of any pair of glove dropping and even smaller if you want a certain pair.

I've gone on 17 runs on this guy to get his carapace and so far I've gotten 14 damn capes and 3 of the gloves.

It just won't %^&*ing drop.

if you fail on Tuten the first time, I was able to rez and return and fight him again, ie he didnt depop, SO it would be a good idea to kill the 2 mobs which are down the path ( across from where you came in ) because that is where Tuten was waiting. it will be harder if you have to kill 2 mobs + Tuten

Sorry for the thread spam, long night...

This is a fantastic mob to take, AoEs for the first mob will get Magic Users(MUs) trashed fast, Warlocks bring a fire res potion for hellfire :D The elites were easy, and the boss was tough but not too bad, a druid can handle the curse easy (esp on MUs) got the plate armour first time, our warrior nearly fainted...

Really enjoying this instance, the quest/loot aren't that amazing, but the drops are frequent, and we got lots of green items outta this, and the respawn isn't crazy like Scarlet Monastry was. Also, theres lots of large, managable mobs to take at once, groups of 4-5 with minions and variety in each group.

Took him down last night with a 39 warrior, 39 druid (restoration spec) 34 paladin, and 32 warrior. Lot's of HPs, but doesn't hit overly hard. Has an AE that slows attack and casting speed by 10%. Also casts a web spell that sticks for 5 seconds.

Came as the 3rd and final step of the "Gong" event. First round is about 8-10 non elite lv 37 spiders. Second is 4 elite lv 37 spiders. Last is Tuten'kash

We have did it now 10 times in a row, 7 cloaks dropped and 3 gloves. Getting pretty annoyed since the only item we came here for is the frikkin armor.....

I went with my 38 warrior today and we killed it fairly easy and it dropped the Firey War Axe which I won YAY FOR MY FIRST EPIC! hehehe

Could this encounter be bugged? I was only able to "hit" the gong once, killed the spawns, then can't hit the gong again.

If you can't ring the gong after the first part, like my group and some others here, check in the corners and up and down the halls near the gong room for some more of the non-elite spiders from the first gong hit. Sometimes they don't all aggro at first, and you have to kill all of 'em before you can hit the gong again.

Like Velanth said below, you got to run around looking for them and make sure all are dead before you can hit the gong for the second part with the 4 elite spiders

Managed to solo him as a 46 ret pally. Took me ages to clear the way, and I died a few times but I go there.

The non elite spiders are a pain after the first gong. I found a 2H with SoC was the quickest way to get rid of them, with a bubble and heal/bandage when needed.

The second wave, the 4 elite spiders was actually easier. You can just pull two at a time if you're quick. I pulled a couple and used Judgment of Light and Seal of Light to keep myself alive and just took them down one by one slowly with a shield and 1H weap, then ate/drank and moved onto the next two.

Tuten himself was the same affair: JoL and SoL to keep your health up, Blessing of Wisdom to help mana regen and just tank him. Keep yourself cleansed of his poison and heal when you need to and he'll eventually go down.

Dropped the cloak for me, hoping to get the plate chest tomorrow
