This zhevra was extremely hard to catch because he's so fast. However, once I caught up to him, my level 23 rogue took him down pretty easily. When you get him down to about 1/4 health, he'll run away fast, but like all mobs will eventually come back and start fighting you again, so I wouldn't worry about trying to chase him down, especially if you have any decent ranged attack at all.

If you see it, just stand nearby and wait. The pathing isn't random, so it'll run past you again in 30-40 seconds or so.

This elite has dropped green items lvl 21-22 every time I've killed it (3 times now)

I love killing this thing...good moneymaker when you can catch it!

Just got some lvl 22 Greenweave Leggings of Fiery Wrath off it.

On my rogue, I caught Swiftmane running around near the Dead Tree by Ratchet.

Killed him and got a cloth belt...

Mother trucker is fast; I had trouble when using Aspect of the Cheetah (no beast mastery bonus). And he runs away when he's almost dead, too! But I got a green drop.

after taming humar on zanedar i came across swiftmane he dropped magefist gloves ( blue item ) pretty tough wee bugger to kill to, glad i have concussive shot tho to stun him LOL

Just saw him today was running my hunter around Barrens to find Humar and he showed up on my beast radar. Anywasy he stills spawns in case anyone was wondering. I found up by the Thorn Hill area.

I just want to let everyone know that Swiftmane is stilll there. I saw the beast tonite while walking around. Wish I would have been a higher lvl to kill it.

Swiftmane is still around, I was sitting waiting for Humar to spawn (never did while I was there) and Swiftmane galloped past a few times. He is FAST, and when I did finally zip an arrow in his butt, even though I was a 25 and he a 21, his strikes are extremely fast so I could hardly recover to hit him. This was in Steamweedle Cartel realm.

He just burned past me while I'm camping for Humar.

He is very fast, could have caught him with Cheetah I think but too lazy.

Killed as a 21 rogue using 1 poison and 1 sharpening stone. He's pretty easy as a rogue as long as you have thistle tea. Sinister Strike a few, thistle tea, gouge, bandage, expose armour then strike s'more and eviscerate. It's best to tag him with a knife. This guy is fast! Had scouting bracers of something or other from him.

He circles around that area, always coming back to the tree. I'd advise standing east of the tree, where it tends to stay clear of mobs, to take him with a throwing knife/axe.

i was walkin throught the barrens doin a quest near ratchet and all of a sudden this Zevrah named Swiftmane runs WICKID quickly past me, so i ask my friend to help me kill it and i get like nothing of real value from the thing! it was a waste for me, i guess i just ran outta luck

I saw him today while flying from Orgrimmar to Crossroads. It was pretty close to Boulder Lode Mine.

While waiting for my Lion, I saw Swiftmane run by three or four times. Looks like he makes a circle and comes back by.
I killed him and got Shimmering Boots of Spirit and Magefist Gloves.

Zhevra Runners in general cannot be tamed, so no, he can't be tamed.

I was running out into the barrens to get a lion patriarch and he caught my eye when he ran by. Tried to keep up with him using aspect of the cheetah but he was gone. He came by a couple of more times and the third I shot him when he was running by and he came back and I got him. Tough little bugger.

He runs around in the area between thorn hill and the tree where Humar spawns. (The tree with the matriarchs and patriarchs.)

I'm sitting out here scouting for humar, for my hunter .It's boring as hell, so I'm trying to do other stuff to keep me busy, read here about Swiftmane, got on my mount and ran around the tree, and there he was .
Quick bugger, too .Fast as a mount almost ! So I got ahead of him, got off my mount and kicked his striped butt .
He dropped a green item and gave me 2xMedium Leather when I skinned him :]

Aggro from other mobs killed me the first time, but the second I took him out. Not too hard of a battle (level 20 Hunter). Dropped some boots and when I skinned him I got 2 medium leathers.

If you can't find a pretty swift Zhevra running around, look out for his little beard thing and black hair down the middle of his chest, regular Zhevras don't have those two things.

Looks just like the Zhevras near by, but runs by super-quick, trailing "speed lines" like an old cartoon or something lol.
Non-tameable of course.

Went after and got Swiftmane. Beautiful zebra you'll see galloping around, not just plodding about like the others.

Not a very hard fight, two level 17s were able to take it down, and I expect that a level 21 could do it easily (note: I'm there now, but haven't tried again)

I just saw him/her running around near the "dead tree" during my quest. He was right on the hill above where the mages house is in Ratchet.

I saw him and killed him very easy, I just saw him running around and I figured he might be one of those animals that you get a drop and it is a quest thing like some animals in the barrens. But I found out it isnt, but he was a nice looking.

When i did the quest Ishamuhale, i went back to Xroads, then i saw him running around super fast! Tried to get him, but he was just way to fast. Then i got him, but he liked me more then my pet, seems that he ignore pets, and just attack you. I was level 16, so kinda weak against this one, will try it again soon xD

This appears to be a mob that shares the spawn time with Humar. So its random which one spawns... if you see Swiftmane spawn then you'll have to wait a while. This is only speculation, but it seems to be that way after a four days of watching and waiting.

Not that hard of a fight really, much easier than Humor (who spawns nearby). Just be wary that he runs at low hp in an area surrounded with hostile mobs

I got him last night with my Hunter (lvl 22 atm) very easy kill, just shooting and fearing (not even used my pet for tanking :P ). The only bad thing to this tactic is that he is fast and out of range in no time. He dropped a green cape for me and skinned him for 2 medium leathers.

Swiftmane is such a beautiful Zhevra! I really wish this one was tameable... It is so fast too! The only way I was able to catch it was by using Concussive Shot.

I did not find him where map says, I found him more north, he does roam and runs fast. I had to watch pathing to be able to target as I could not get spell off fast enough. He would run oor before spell ended.
I agree not that hard of a fight. I was 22 and he was 21. I had Suc pet up as well, so i tanked, used healthstone and potion while pet hit from behind

Swiftmane is tameable. Got him not too long ago on my lvl 37 Orc Hunter just after getting Humar the Pridelord.
